Daily Inspiration: Meet Caleb & Leann

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caleb & Leann. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Caleb & Leann is a vocal duo formed in August 2020 and comprised of Caleb Langford and Leann Huddleston.

Caleb had been involved in the bluegrass world of music, and Leann was part of a local cover band in Cookeville, TN.

Leann’s husband had the idea that the two should collaborate, thinking that their voices would complement each other nicely. They rehearsed a couple of times, began playing local shows, and the rest is history. Through the support and encouragement of a few individuals who believed in them, Caleb & Leann met with legendary Grammy-winning producer and songwriter Keith Stegall, who produced artists such as Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, and the Zac Brown Band.

They began writing songs with a handful of number-one Nashville writers and have developed their own unique sound. Caleb’s voice filled with gruff emotion paired with Leann’s silky tone has created a sound that is sure to resonate with listeners for years to come. Along with their guitar player and integral part of their sound, Andrew Buckner, Caleb & Leann have been working in the studio with Keith Stegall to complete a 4-song project they hope to release soon. They have had the honor to open for acts such as Craig Morgan, T. Graham Brown, and Lorrie Morgan.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Caleb & Leann both have families and job responsibilities, and it has been difficult at times to navigate and prioritize to find a healthy balance. Caleb owns a lawn care business and has a wife and daughter, and Leann is also married and a full-time homeschool mom of two.

They are family-oriented individuals who are pursuing a dream of full-time careers in music later in their lives than they would have anticipated. Timing is everything. Another challenge has been reaching a point where they were both confident enough in themselves and their abilities to begin chasing their dreams.

The encouragement from friends, family, and people within the music industry has been the most helpful part of the journey to pursue their musical careers.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Caleb & Leann are filling a void in the country music genre, as there are very few male/female vocal duos who have been able to stand the test of time.

There is no weak link in this duo. Caleb & Leann could not be more different vocally, but they each possess their own strengths and appeal to their own specific audiences as individuals and vocalists.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Caleb & Leann have found that consistent hard work and showing kindness in all situations has been helpful in bringing mentors across their path organically. Leave your ego at the door and be teachable. Ask questions and don’t ever assume you already have all the answers!
