Daily Inspiration: Meet Colt Graves

Today we’d like to introduce you to Colt Graves.

Hi Colt, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Colt Graves is a genre-blending artist from Owensboro, Kentucky, rooted in the legacy of his grandfather, Bluegrass Hall of Fame member Josh Graves. His sound fuses country and bluegrass with hip-hop and R&B, creating emotionally charged music that bridges tradition and modern edge. Graves was discovered by Timbaland on TikTok and signed shortly after. He has since amassed over 65 million streams and in March 2025, made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have definitely been a lot of ups and downs along the way. I’ve learned that you can’t get too comfortable in the highs or too defeated in the lows , you have to stay grounded and keep moving no matter what season you’re in. This journey has taken a lot of hard work, persistence, and sacrifice, but every challenge taught me something and helped shape who I am today

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a music artist who blends dark, cinematic country with elements of hip-hop and R&B to create a sound that feels raw, emotional, and different from anything else out right now. I’m most known for my song “Cowboy Capone,” ft Timbaland.Timbaland discovered me on TikTok and it ultimately led to him to sign me.
What I’m most proud of, beyond the music itself, is being able to show my children that dreams are possible if you truly commit to them and are willing to hustle through the hard times. I want them to see firsthand that persistence, sacrifice, and belief in yourself can change your life.
What sets me apart is both my sound and my work ethic. I don’t follow trends, I create from real experiences and emotions and I put everything I have into the craft. The music is authentic to who I am, and I think people can feel that when they listen.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is my family. I grew up experiencing a lot of trauma and difficult situations, and from an early age I knew I wanted more for myself and the people I love. That’s a big part of what drives me every single day.
My work ethic and my ambition come from wanting to create a better life, not just for me, but for my family. Success to me isn’t only about music or recognition … it’s about building something lasting, creating stability, and leaving behind a legacy my family can be proud of.
