Today we’d like to introduce you to Cortni Mathis
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve been a content creator since 2020, sharing snippets of my life on social media. In 2022, I got engaged to my now-husband, and sharing my wedding journey felt like the perfect evolution of my content. By June 2023, during my wedding weekend, I found myself documenting candid moments—capturing the little details and setting up my phone for intimate, meaningful moments. Though we had an incredible photography and videography team, this personal documentation felt unique and true to me.
After the wedding, my entrepreneurial spirit kicked in, and I realized I could offer this personalized, documentary-style content to others. In July 2023, I launched Taúte Films, Nashville’s first docu-style wedding content creation business, with the motto: “Giving your moments gravity through short-form video.” What began as a side project quickly took off, and by April 2024, I went full-time, building a team of associates ready to capture moments for Tennessee brides and beyond. Today, we’re globally available and have exciting destination bookings in Mexico and Spain!
We are thrilled to announce the launch of Haus of Taúte, a Nashville-based boutique focused on creating authentic, captivating content for weddings, events, and brands. Specializing in everything from intimate weddings to expansive brand campaigns, Haus of Taúte captures organic moments with a storytelling approach that fosters genuine connection. With a talented team offering services in social media management, user-generated content, and vertical wedding films, Haus of Taúte serves as a one-stop hub for beautiful, impactful visuals tailored to each client’s unique story.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road bringing such a new concept into the wedding industry. Navigating the challenges of a brand-new business and uncharted territory has been tough, and I’ve had to rebrand twice before finding the right fit with Taúte. With every wedding, I grow and push myself further. Community has been my rock—a group of fellow creators and I share a chat where we bounce ideas, support each other through challenges, and celebrate each other’s successes. Their genuine encouragement has been invaluable to me on this journey.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a wedding content creator, I specialize in capturing the unfiltered, raw, and candid moments of a couple’s wedding day—those genuine instances that can be cherished just 24 hours after the wedding. My focus is on organic movement and authentic moments that reflect each couple’s unique essence. I’m incredibly proud of the 50+ weddings I’ve had the honor of documenting. It means the world to me to stand by my clients’ sides and be chosen by them to capture their special day through Taúte Films. What sets me apart is my commitment to showcasing their true selves in a way that feels distinctly theirs.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe wedding content creation is here to stay and is not just a fleeting trend. In the next 5-10 years, I see wedding creators solidifying their positions as essential wedding professionals. As couples increasingly seek personalized and authentic representations of their special days, the demand for this service will grow. We will likely see more creators embracing this role and refining their craft to capture genuine moments that resonate with clients, transforming the industry into a more integral part of the wedding planning experience.
