Daily Inspiration: Meet Crystle Elam

Today we’d like to introduce you to Crystle Elam.

Hi Crystle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I have been blessed to be singing gospel music for 15 years. I started singing in the school and church choir at a young age. My parents knew early on that God had given me the gift of singing. I soon found myself singing at places around town, and my love for it grew more and more. In 2008 I met a man named Jim Ricketts, who would soon become my best friend and singing, partner. He and I traveled every weekend as a duet for 9 1/2 years until the Lord called him home. After his passing, I took a short break from traveling but soon knew I had to return to doing what I loved! I then started my solo ministry and picked up where he and I left off, averaging 150 dates a year. In 2020 I joined the group Exodus out of Gadsden, Al, and sang Alto for them for about 6 months, but the Lord was calling me back to my solo ministry. Currently, I travel with a band on select dates and have been so blessed to make so many wonderful friends that I will always cherish and pray God has a work of sharing the Gospel through song for many years to come!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
No, it has not always been smooth or easy. Dealing with the loss of my best friend was very difficult, but with God’s help, I overcame the loss and continued with the ministry.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I was in the finance industry for about 15 years, and roughly 5 years ago, I left it all behind to sing full time. When I am not singing, I help my parents at a family-owned gift shop in my hometown.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
God will always provide a way even when we cannot see how. Traveling is not always easy, and we fo on love offerings, but I could tell you repeatedly where God supplied the need.
