Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniella Clement.
Hi Daniella, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I took my first class at The Chrome Bar in Nashville in 2017. I trained there for 2 years, trained abroad for 1 year in Sydney, Australia as my fiance and I worked abroad for a year. When I returned, the owner of Chrome opened a location in Murfreesboro and I started teaching classes there in 2021. I built a small following while teaching at that location. The owner ended up closing that location in June of 2022 and I decided to take my following and open my own studio in July of 2022. We have been open at Synergy for just over 4 years with a small community of pole dancers. We are still working on building our aerial clients.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My number 1 challenge is breaking through the intimidation most women feel about coming to their first pole dance class. A lot of my new clients say that they have been following my page for a year until they come in for the first time! The most common fear I hear is that nobody wants to look “silly” or “foolish”. In reality, our beginner classes are specifically designed for first timers with plenty of one on one instruction. Our new students leave feeling excited and refreshed. They love the vibe, the community and the support they receive in class.
The other challenge is to remove the taboo from pole dance and let women know they are allowed to move their bodies freely and express themselves.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I love teaching beginners and first timers. my beginner classes break down every detail from the warm up, walking, timing, all the way to a full combo at the end of each class. Our studio is known for its warm, welcoming and supportive environment. Because we support our beginners so well with our instruction, no one feels left out or left behind.
I love watching women bloom out of their shell, even in just their first few classes. Bringing women together, teaching movement, embodiment, confidence and strength is incredibly rewarding.
We are known for our one on one attention to clients, intimate community of women and our warm, ambient studio.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Most new students find an instructor that really inspires them. That inspirational instructor will motivate students to learn to move in a new way or achieve a specific trick on the pole.
