Daily Inspiration: Meet Denis

Today we’d like to introduce you to Denis.

Hi Denis, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve started with learning the guitar in 2006 when I was 10-years-old. After 2010 I joined and played with several punk and metal bands, but the most notable one was a heavy/thrash metal band in which I’ve joined to in 2014, where I started to develop my vocals and include playing the bass as well. Unfortunately, none of these bands held up for long and, after I got discouraged to search for bands over and over again, I decided to start with YouTube in April, 2017. I started with covers but shortly switched to making musical experiments which would later inspire me to create the ”What if” series of videos. I just kept on working, learning and believing in myself. Gradually, year by year, I could see the progress and it became more dynamic – which gave me a drive boost to create more content, but also learn to get better at everything. In the end I’m really happy that I’ve got the courage to start the things on my own, because it opened so many doors for me and is keeping me fulfilled.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t that easy, but my will for doing music crushed all of the obstacles. Although uncomfortable, I actually honored all the bad days because it crafted my perspective over a potential problem. I’ve got discouraged a couple of times and almost quit what I was doing, but the voice in my head was always whispering to keep the work going, and I’m glad I did.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Besides doing original music, mostly, I do various known songs in different styles. While keeping some of the original key melody (more or less), there are complete different angles to look from when approaching to something like this. Putting your own twist is a plus while also looking from another band’s perspective at the same time is crucial to achieve a desired style. Besides the songs, I record whole albums in complete different styles. I also do paid requests as an artist/producer for other musicians/performers.

I’m happy with countless collabs I did and most notable ones are with Andriy Vasylenko, Steve Welsh, Moonic Production, 331Erock, Anthony Vincent, Dead On A Sunday, Nadia Kodes…

I’m really proud that hundreds of thousands of people shared their joy, happiness and many other meaningful feelings while listening to some of my work, while also influenced some of my fans to start to play music or discover new bands. Moreover, big names in the music industry have interacted with me throughout the comments, story reposts, likes… Such as; Metallica, Sal Abruscato and Johnny Kelly from Type O Negative, Christoph Schneider, Chris Caffery, Todd La Torre, David Ellefson, Jerry Cantrell, Paul Stanley, Possessed, Machine Head, Rex Brown, Anders Jacobsson…

I think that my personality sets me apart from others, like how anyone else has the individual character and personality. Moreover, I’m not the only one who does such a thing on the internet, but all of my fellows differ from the styles and all of us have our preferred territories.

What are your plans for the future?
Besides growing on social media, I want to revive and get back to my other solo project ‘Planleft’ and release an album this year, and also release several EPs, also this year, with my new band ‘Manifestor Generator’. Also, play more live gigs with my stuff but also as a session musician and do collaborations with as much musicians as possible and release hundreds of videos, settle up partnerships and endorsements. Other than that, keep on growing personally, working hard, practice and have fun.
