Daily Inspiration: Meet Dr. Janette Nesheiwat

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janette Nesheiwat.

Hi Janette, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m 1 of 5 kids in my family raised by my widowed mom who is a pediatric registered nurse and inspired me to go into medicine. Growing up, Coming from a close nit Christian family, my mom taught us the importance of God, education, servitude, and giving back to our community. I was in awe watching my mom taking care of young injured pediatric patients and seeing the joy and love and laughter she brought into their lives which played a positive role in their healing.

I grew up in a small town of 2,000 Umatilla, Florida and after graduating high school, I went to the University of South Florida In Tampa and eventually on to the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences where I completed my medical training in Northwest Arkansas. It’s a blessing and a privilege to care for patients. I love what I do and strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I grew up in a house with 1 bathroom, 4 girls and 1 boy- that was fun! After my Dad died, It was tough growing up in a family with a widowed mom who worked 2-3 jobs to ensure all 5 of us kids had what we needed to succeed in school and eventually give back to our community. Our strong Christian faith and work ethic definitely made a difference. My mom Hayat, a Jordanian immigrant instilled in us the importance of kindness, hard work, and determination. My mom’s strong work ethic and encouragement led, my sister Captain Julia, a US Army Officer military intelligence officer who served in Iraq, and Afghanistan and was an advisor to the 45th President of the USA.

My brother Daniel and sister Dina are both Nashville defense attorneys fighting for the rights of those in need combating human trafficking, racial profiling, and defending the innocent. My sister Jaclyn Stapp, founder of CHARM, “children are magical”, former Miss USA, children’s book author, and mom of 4 married to the singer of Creed Scott Stapp. We could not have done anything without the love and inspiration of my amazing Mom who is so talented and speaks 3 languages Arabic, Spanish, and English. We owe our achievements to her and the grace of God who has blessed us even through challenges and tribulations.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I currently work as an urgent care medical doctor and a Fox News medical news contributor where I speak on breaking medical issues that affect Americans, most recently have taken care of over 20,000 covid related patients in the past 2 years.

I do a little bit of everything from taking care of broken bones, lacerations, heart attacks, monkeypox, covid, flu, appendicitis, etc The variety keeps me on my toes. Most recently I returned from Ukraine where I led a medical mission caring for hundreds of Ukrainian refugees in need, It was an experience I will never forget.

Any big plans?
Looking forward to continued patient care, teaching, and educating Americans on how to stay healthy, and live strong.
