Daily Inspiration: Meet Emily Noel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Noel

Hi Emily, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been a musician my whole life. I was a closeted songwriter for the longest time really. I never thought that anything I was writing was good enough to share or actually do anything with. It wasn’t until my divorce in 2017 that I decided to throw myself into the only thing I ever understood. Music. The first song I ever released was “Me, Myself, and I” in 2018. After mild success and a Josie Music Award nomination for Song of the Year, I got the fuel to my fire to keep going. In 2019 I came back to the Josie Music Awards in Nashville with 4 more nominations, Vocalist of the Year, Rising Star, Song of the Year, and Video of the Year for my song “I Miss You”. This was the visit that changed my life. I had never been anywhere before that felt more like home than Nashville did to me in that moment. I went back home to Pennsylvania and attended the Lehigh Valley Music awards a few weeks later with 5 more nominations and began to tell anyone and everyone who would listen to me of my goal to move to Nashville. I knew the more I talked about it out loud the more I would speak it in to existence. In June of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I packed everything I owned and made the move to Nashville and have never looked back. This emotional moment prompted me to write “Hometown Hero” which was my first song I ever recorded and released in Nashville, it was also nominated for Song of the Year at the 2022 Josie Music Awards held at the Grand Ole Opry. Since then, I have put out 2 more singles (with my newest song “Gasoline” to release in a few weeks) and have gotten the opportunity to open for Sam Grow, Colt Ford, and play my first arena in February at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. I’m looking forward to where this journey continues to take me and thankful for the opportunites and growth thus far. A huge thank you to all my loved ones, supporters, co writers, and band mates. I could not do this without them.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being in this industry is a wild ride and certainly not for the faint of heart. The highs are high and the lows are low. Sometimes the lows happen far more often, but the moments of success are everything. I think the most important thing for me in my moments of struggle, is to remember why I started doing this in the first place and what it means to me. I think it is also really important not to compare yourself to others doing the same thing. Everyone works at different paces and everyone’s idea of success is different. Your journey and your path is yours for a reason and it will lead you to where you need to be always.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a country/rock singer songwriter. I love to take past and present experiences and turn them into relative songs that people can connect with. I am honestly just so proud for sticking with it. It is so easy to quit but it is much harder to keep the determination to keep going and showing up for yourself and your dreams. I try to be as authentic and as real as possible with my journey and my struggles and I think that is something that sets me apart.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
You will never be everyone’s cup of tea. Not everyone will love you or your music and that is ok. The ones that do and mean it and feel it are the ones that make it all worth it. Be true to you first and foremost.
