Today we’d like to introduce you to Faith Alene.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started early on in life when I started doing musical theatre in elementary school. My love for singing and performing grew from there and eventually made its way over to writing. During the boredom of Covid I borrowed my brother guitar and taught myself how to play using online resources like YouTube! When I moved down to Florida, I started doing live gigs at farmers markets around town. I also started recording many of the songs I had written and begin to turn this hobby into a career
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
it’s been a relatively smooth road for me so far in the industry! I’ve made lots of friends, both local and through social media who have supported and encouraged me along the way. I’m part of a great community that uplifts and is always there for one another. One struggle I’ve had along in the way is people looking down at me because of my age. I’m relatively young for the industry still being 17 and write all my music entirely on my own. Some people don’t take me seriously until they actually hear the music. I would love to see a shift in the industry where all artists are taken seriously. talent does not have an age limit.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an independent artist from new Smyrna Beach Florida with a pop folk sound. I pride myself on my songwriting with all my songs being completely written by me from the heart about real life experiences. My songs are kind of like taking a look into my diary, the good and the hard in life together in my discography. I love experimenting with genres and hope one of my songs catches your eye…. Or ears! You can find my music on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, YouTube music or anywhere else you find your favorite jams.
What matters most to you? Why?
The thing that matters most to me is authenticity. With everything I do, music and social media, I want people to get to know the real me. I want people to know the stories and emotions they’re listening to were felt and experienced by a real person, not a robot. We are all going through this life experiencing the same emotions and feelings and it feels good to know someone else has walked in your shoes.
