Daily Inspiration: Meet Gina Peterson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gina Peterson.

Hi Gina , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My little sister was going to prom so I decided to use her boyfriend’s camera at the time to do their photos. I absolutely fell in love with photography. After that day I went and bought a camera off of eBay for about $200 and started there. I did my first photoshoot for some senior photos and now have moved onto doing engagements and weddings and well, I absolutely love it and am such a people person. I also have started doing videography is some of my sessions and the cliental have loved it so far! I say if you have an idea always follow it, because you never know where it could lead you to.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a smooth ride. While photography is fun it is definitely difficult to get your name out there while I do photography on the side I still works regular job part-time, and I am a pre-veterinary student with a double minor in biology and chemistry. So, it definitely is a busy life for me. I always think that if you love something enough you can always make time for it in your life and that’s what I do!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I currently do photography and videography. Not only that but I have a small following on Instagram for my bodybuilding page where I post a ton of videos on working out and eating clean! I am most proud of my ability to be able to do all of the side quests in life, but remember that my true passion is what I’m in school for and why I do all of the things I do. I do them to broaden my abilities and to be able to experience as many things as possible!

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I definitely hope to continue photography as I continue my degree in veterinary medicine. I believe that I can blend the two once I get my doctorate and be able to help animals get better adopted with adorable pictures from their very own veterinarian!
