Daily Inspiration: Meet Heather Fuller

Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Fuller.

Hi Heather, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My story starts in the Fall after graduation from Auburn University (War Eagle!). I had fallen in love with Spain during a study abroad program and decided to move to Madrid. I taught in a bilingual public school there and soaked up every second of my time abroad- through travel, friendships, and new experiences. It was a life-defining time for me and taught me the value of exploring the world and stepping out of my comfort zone.

When I returned back to Nashville, I joined a non-profit medical clinic and was able to use my Spanish language skills to help translate for Spanish-speaking patients. From there, I took a job working in foreign-language textbook and technology sales, which I really enjoyed. However, after 5 years of weekly work travel, I decided it was time for a change. I took a big leap of faith and started my Real Estate business… eight years later, I’m very certain that this is my calling!

I’m a Nashville Native and in fact, I was the first baby born at what is now Centennial Hospital. I’ve enjoyed watching the city grow and change… and this has given me such a unique perspective as a Realtor. So many of my clients are now from out of state and I love watching them embrace the friendly and welcoming spirit of Nashville.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all! I started Real Estate part-time while continuing to work full-time in my sales job. It was a huge juggle with clients on both sides, and it kept me from really succeeding as a Realtor. I finally decided to make the jump to Real Estate full time and then fairly quickly found out I was pregnant with my oldest daughter.

The first year of her life was a huge balancing act between working to expand my business while embracing life as a new mom. There were many times I wanted to quit, but I was determined to make it work and I’m grateful that I pushed forward. Today, as a mom of 2 (Eliza, 6 and Vivianne, 1) every day is still a juggling act, but I have since developed better systems, hired more help, and have enjoyed watching my business and family bloom.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
What sets me apart from other agents is that I focus on education. I always tell my clients “I want you to be beyond comfortable with what you’re signing!” This starts from our very first meeting… I’ve poured so much love into creating buyer and seller guides to help my clients understand and embrace the process.

Another thing that sets me apart is that I invest heavily into each of my listings. This includes marketing, staging (both decor and furniture) and even a special Spotify playlist (aptly named “Sell this home!”). It’s those little touches that can make a huge difference in the bottom line to a seller, even in a hot market! When I put your home on the market, I want it to shine in every way that it can. I have an amazing “listing prep” team who can work miracles if needed.

Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My motto is “Community over Competition”, and I have many Realtor friends who believe the same.

In this business, it’s also so important to be willing to put yourself out there. If you see someone who is doing something you admire, ask how they are doing it. There are so many who are willing to share what has brought them success.
