Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Love.
Hi Isabella, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Ever since I was a little girl, I have grown up singing and dancing to country music. I inherited my musical talent from my grandmother and father (although he will not admit it). When I was a baby, my mom remembers me dancing and bopping to country music while I held onto my walker and quotes that “I always knew that she was destined to be in the country music industry.” At the age of six, I attended and performed at the Brockwell Gospel Music School for the first time with my music teacher Mr. Mason. When I was thirteen, I performed with my dad’s friend, Hoss Skelton, at one of the best honky tonks in Nashville, Honky Tonk Central. After this performance, I realized that I wanted a career as a country music singer, so I started to learn to play the guitar. I truly love performing in front of people and downtown Nashville gave me an amazing taste of what it could be like to be a singer. I would go on to perform at Honky Tonk Central several times as well as compete in talent shows for my FFA chapter, sing at a wedding, and perform the National Anthem at my hometown rodeos.
Although country music is a huge passion in my life, I also love agriculture and raising cattle. I was born on a family farm and eventually started to get involved with the family business. At the age of sixteen, my father bought me two Brahman heifers, and now I have been raising cattle ever since. I hope I can continue to raise cattle as I pursue a country music career.
I released my first single titled “Like My Daddy” on October 28th of this year. I have teamed up with Lance Curtis and Blue Creek Productions to bring the public this song that holds a special place in my heart. The song explains the impact a father’s love can have on his daughter and her future relationships. This is exactly what Lance and Isabella were hoping to capture when they wrote this song. I hope that you love this song as much as we do and have a special person in your life that treated you “like my daddy” did. My father and my family have always supported me whether that be in music or cattle, and I am so thankful for that.
Currently, I have been playing gigs around my hometown and have traveled to Nashville to meet some new and exciting people in the music industry. Hopefully this year, I can release another single. I would love to have you follow me along on my journey by following me on social media or checking me out on Apple Music or Spotify.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Juggling cattle and music has not been a smooth road.
I always knew the struggles of raising cattle as I have grown up on a family farm, but I wasn’t prepared for the struggles that came with the music industry. I self-manage myself and no one can tell you how much time and dedication it takes, but in the end, it makes it worth it. I feel like one of the biggest struggles is being heard as an independent artist.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I do many different things, but the two things I’m most proud of are my cattle business and my music. I want to make music that resonates with me personally, and I think that is extremely important as an artist. This gives the audience almost a personal connection with you. I also started to raise cattle when I was sixteen, and it can be one of the most heartbreaking/rewarding businesses in the world.
When you care about your animals, it hurts to see them in pain, but one of the best feelings in the world is watching a newborn baby be born and seeing it grow. You watch it go through different stages in life, and I can’t even explain the feeling that it can give you. I think one thing that sets me apart as an artist is my passion for agriculture. I developed my passion for it once I started to raise cattle and I will forever be an advocate for farmers and ranchers as they feed the world. I also think one thing that sets me apart is that I will never try to be any that I’m not as an artist.
I want people to be able to see the real me.
We all have different ways of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success to me is not necessarily what the average person thinks.
Success comes with struggles and hardships, maybe even times when a person wants to give up but they do not. They persevere even when times are tough. That is success to me, being able to keep going to achieve a dream even if the road is rough.
