Hi Jamesia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
When I first went to esthetic school, my dream was to become a makeup artist. Waxing honestly wasn’t something I was excited about at all. But life has a funny way of showing you where you’re meant to be. Once I got into the field and started hands-on training, I realized there was something special about the instant results and confidence waxing gives people. Over time, I fell in love with it.
I became a licensed esthetician in 2017 and started my first job in the field. That’s where everything clicked—I found my rhythm, my confidence, and my passion for helping people feel good in their own skin. Later, I joined another studio in Cool Springs, where I continued to grow and perfect my craft.
After years of learning and building my experience, I finally took the leap of faith to open my own studio—JamSession Esthetics. My business represents everything I’ve worked for: confidence, comfort, and a touch of style that’s uniquely me. What started as something I wasn’t sure I’d even like turned into my purpose and my passion.
Every client that walks through my door reminds me why I do what I do—to make self-care empowering, enjoyable, and real. JamSession Esthetics isn’t just a studio; it’s the result of believing in growth, trusting the process, and finding beauty in unexpected places.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
To be honest, my biggest struggle wasn’t anything external—it was me learning to fully trust myself. Starting my own business meant stepping away from the security of working for someone else and believing that I could do it on my own. The business side of things—budgeting, paperwork, licenses, and just figuring out where to start—was intimidating at first. But once I pushed past the fear and started trusting my vision, everything started to fall into place.

I specialize in full-body waxing for women using both hard and soft wax, along with vajacials and intimate care services. My clients know me for being gentle, detailed, and funny—I keep things light and make people feel comfortable, even during the most personal services.
What really sets me apart is the vibe. At JamSession Esthetics, it’s more than just a wax—it’s an experience. I create a relaxed, comfotable atmosphere where clients can laugh, unwind, and leave feeling confident. My goal is to make every appointment feel like good energy and good conversation, not just another beauty service.
How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t call it luck—I’d call it a blessing. I’ve been fortunate to build a loyal and trusting client base over the years, and many of them have followed me through every step of my journey. That kind of support means everything to me. It’s not something I take for granted—it’s a reminder that when you treat people right and stay consistent, your blessings will follow you.
