Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Crawford.
Hi Jeff, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2010, I went to Peru as a tourist for two weeks. My agenda was to visit all of the spiritual locations that I had seen highlighted on the Ancient Aliens television series, which airs on the History Channel. During that whirlwind trip, three different tribal shamans, in three completely different regions of the country, recognized me as a shaman. In fact, despite not knowing what a shaman was, one shaman insisted that I heal her sister, who was due for stomach surgery the next day. I had no idea what I was doing, but with the shaman’s guidance, I performed my first shamanic healing. Another shaman led me through ayahuasca ceremonies and explained how my experiences were unique while recognizing and explaining to me that I am a shaman. A third shaman informed me that my shamanic line came through my American grandmother and Peruvian father. (My birth parents and grandparents are Americans in the U.S.)
The following year, I returned to Peru to learn more. I had become friends with a woman who sold indigenous ayahuasca-themed tapestries and art. When I asked about the artisans, she said that she would arrange for me to meet them. A few days later, I was introduced to an older indigenous tribal man and woman who immediately referred to me as their son. They said that they recognized me from their dreams and knew I was coming to see them. They further explained that I had been their son in other lifetimes, but that I had to grow up away from them in this lifetime. They believed that I had been guided back to them in order to carry on my father’s shamanic line and work. Later, they took me to their village to meet the rest of the family. Despite having never met in person, the familiarity between them and me was surreal. The following year, I was legally adopted by this family and inducted into the Shipibo-Conibo tribe in the Peruvian Amazon. With that, I was the only Westerner ever to be legally adopted by an indigenous tribal family in the history of Peru. That began nine years of mentoring under the guidance of my Peruvian father and brother-in-law, who were both respected tribal shamans. While mentoring me, they placed me in situations without explanation and would observe if I was compelled to heal people and if I was effective in doing so. I never knew I was being tested until after the test was complete, and then they would explain that I had been observed. Other tests involved me defending myself against various types of attacks while I was in ayahuasca trances. In 2019, I passed the final test and was officially recognized as one of the respected maestros, or esteemed shamans, in the tribe.
I have been practicing professionally as “Nashville’s Shaman®”—a Shaman, Reiki Master Teacher, Reconnective Healing® Practitioner, Tarot Specialist, Numerologist, Pastoral Counselor/Coach, and Teacher of Healing Arts and Psychic Ability Development—for 13 years. My business name is Quantum Light Shamanic Healing, and my home office is in Southeast Nashville.
Today I am mindful and grateful for my calling in such a magical and mysterious world. Having been raised in a system of organized religion, which I served for so many years, I spent my former life doing what I thought was the “right thing.” But my erstwhile limited understanding of God and of what I thought I should do paradoxically led me into patterns of self-betrayal and “falling on the sword” for the “greater good.” Underneath it all, I lived my life as a very frustrated and confused soul. The more I learned, the more troubled I became with the inconsistencies inherent in church organizations. My personal experience of God was not supported by church theology. I lived in a downward-spiraling tunnel, experiencing a sense of emptiness and loss of meaning in the pit of my stomach, compartmentalizing myself, dutifully playing the roles I had obligated myself to play in my work, my relationships, and in my family. Drudgery, depression, and confusion were the inevitable consequences—yet all the while, a part of me intuitively knew that there was more to life than living on this treadmill.
Then everything changed. God saw fit to allow me to experience God’s self in ways that challenged everything I thought I knew. I accepted an opportunity to lead ghost tours, which first opened me up to a better and more comprehensive understanding of the anatomy and nature of those parts of ourselves which are eternal. Through the study of the Tarot, I rediscovered my faith, as I found in it a compendium of esoteric and historical information preserved and passed on by spiritual people from all walks of life around the world. Through the experience of—and then learning to work with—energetic healing, I found the miraculous. In the Peruvian Amazon, I experienced an epiphany that shook the foundations of my world. The universe’s divine plan for me suddenly became crystal clear after finding and being reconnected with my timeless lineage: my adopted Shipibo family, my identity as a shaman, and my purpose as one who heals and brings people into their own power. It just keeps getting better and better!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The main obstacle I faced had to do with owning and understanding my own experiences. I could be very confident and effective in Peru while surrounded by my adopted family and maestros. But back home in the U.S., people immediately challenged the authenticity of my experiences and healing gifts. When people would ask what I did for a living, I would get tense as I debated about how much to reveal without sounding like I was crazy. It was difficult when my family and friends in the U.S. began to separate themselves from me, thinking me a practitioner of dark magic. No matter how eloquent I explained what I was doing, I was met with judgement and condemnation. Then I realized that the easiest way for people to understand what I was able to offer, was to give them an opportunity to experience it firsthand. That’s what launched my healing practice. As people experienced various degrees of healing, they would tell their friends and relatives and write testimonials that I could use for my business marketing. Those client referrals and testimonials are what grew my healing practice and within 2 years, I was able to quit my secular job in order to work full-time in my healing practice.

This process utilizes ancient spiritual energy practices and sacred connectedness to effect profound psychic, physical, and inter-dimensional healing. The goal is the restoration of our primal pristine state of internal energy flow and connectedness to the divine mind of the cosmos itself.
When the challenges of the world leave people feeling wonky, drained, unstable, disconnected, or even cursed, I use various approaches of interacting with my client’s energy in such a way as to stimulate balance and reactivation. Clients experience many outcomes such as feeling more clear in their thoughts, more clear in their emotions, more clear in their spirit or in their connection to the Divine Mind, and feeling more centered and grounded. They are able to navigate forward, rather than to be in a continuous reactionary cycle. Very often, this new state of balance is the environment in which the body can cure itself of various illnesses and conditions.
Utilizing Tarot and Numerology, I am able to help clients see their situations clearly and help them recognize the many ways in which they can exercise their freewill to strategically and authentically navigate forward while pursuing their desired outcomes. I am not a fortune teller. I don’t believe in predestination, therefore I don’t believe in fortune telling, nor have I found any evidence that the Tarot and Numerology were ever intended to be used for fortune telling. Rather I observe the patterns in the numbers and tarot archetypes which reveal insights that assist my clients in regaining control of their lives.
I offer pastoral counseling & coaching as a way to apply universal spiritual laws to practical, daily grind, challenges. I understand that the physical world is an emanation, or expression of the spiritual world. The spiritual world is an emanation or expression of the physical world. The goal isn’t to escape one in order to function in the other. Rather, the goal is to master one, and in so doing, realizing a new level of mastery and experiential knowledge in the other. I help my clients discover and implement resolutions that fulfill them both physically and spiritually.
I offer classes in the healing arts and psychic ability development to assist students in discovering, understanding and learning to use their own unique intuitive gifts. Many of my students have gone on to open their own healing practices.
