Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeff Stauffer.
Hi Jeff, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
As far back as I remember, music was a part of my life. My mother was a stay-at-home mom while I was growing up, and she loves music. She sang every day, all throughout the house, and if she was in the kitchen, there was music playing. Her father, my grandpa, played guitar and loved bluegrass and country music. Every time, I would go over there for a visit, he would put a guitar in my hand.
With so much musical influence around me, It wasn’t hard to learn to play a variety of musical instruments. Both of my brothers also loved music and learned to play as well. We eventually formed a band and toured locally on a regular basis. During high school, I started “messing around” with songwriting and we added some original songs into our setlists.
However, it wasn’t until just a few years ago that I got serious about being a singer/songwriter and an artist. In these past few years, I’ve really focused on songwriting and producing my own tracks. It’s a slow process (a marathon,) but I love it all!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I can’t say it’s been too bumpy of a road, but it has been long. There is a lot of roads! The biggest struggle is having the patience to keep pushing when progress is slow.
Also, I don’t live in Nashville, I live in Ohio. So, going back and forth between Nashville several times a year can be a little rough. Scheduling meetings becomes more complicated when factoring in 14-15 hours of travel time!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a country singer/songwriter. I really enjoy the process and experience of songwriting. The more I write my own music, the more I actually listen, and I mean really listen, to the work of other great songwriters. It is an art… communicating whole stories and feelings in only a few lines. That’s what excites me the most about being an artist. Giving myself goosebumps while I’m writing down a brand new line is so amazing.
I also really enjoy producing and mixing my own songs. Watching everything come together is a lot of fun. Every new track is a new adventure.
With social media, especially TikTok as of lately, I have spent more time recently creating content in video format. Folks on TikTok may recognize me as the guy that plays “country intros you recognize right away.” I started a series over a year ago where I play very recognizable intros to popular country songs. I guess people really enjoyed it because it took off a little.
It actually has taught me a lot, because people will ask for different songs, and I will sit down, listen, and learn the intro. That ends up spilling over into the production of my own music because it has expanded my ability/knowledge in more areas than I would have otherwise been working on.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I’m always open to collaborating! I’ve been looking for opportunities to work with other artists whether it be as a songwriter, a collab on a production, or something else I haven’t even thought of. Recently, a friend on TikTok reached out and we ended up making a TikTok video together. It was a lot of fun!
I watch my social media and email very closely. Comments, DMs, or emails about collaborating would be received with great excitement!
Of course, I love it when people like my music enough to buy it on iTunes, or off of my website (shameless plug.) But realistically, listening to my music on streaming apps is free; watching my YouTube Videos is free; liking, commenting, and sharing my social media posts is free; and those things go such a long way and make such a difference.
Not only does that encourage me to keep up the work on my end, but it also ends up opening doors so that other people that haven’t heard of me can be exposed to me as an artist. Hopefully, they’ll love what I’m all about!
Pricing:
- They can purchase my music for $0.99 a track on my website and iTunes. Or they can stream it for free on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, and all of the other streaming apps
