Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenna Roessler.
Hi Jenna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m a 19-year-old girl from St. Louis, Missouri, with a rich background in singing, dancing, and acting. Having grown up aspiring to be on Broadway, I dedicated 12 years to studying music, focusing on classical and Broadway genres. I also play the piano and guitar. About a year and a half ago, I discovered a true passion for being a singer-songwriter during an international talent show.
After graduating high school, I decided to pursue this passion, moving to Nashville with my family. Now based in Nashville, I actively write, produce, and share my music, participating in singer-songwriter rounds, collaborating with fellow writers, and immersing myself in the vibrant music scene.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
While many people my age have pursued college and started an independent chapter in their lives, my journey took a different path. Opting for a career leap, I moved to a new city with my family, rather than the traditional college route. My supportive parents believe in my dedication and hard work.
Living a few years ahead of my peers, it’s challenging to connect with others my age, making it difficult to form new friendships or find a date. Despite the unconventional path, I engage in songwriter rounds, building friendships with fellow musicians. Although my lifestyle differs from typical teenager, I embrace the challenges and wouldn’t trade this unique journey for anything.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer, songwriter, and musician specializing in Indie Pop. I play the piano and guitar, crafting unique lyrics and melodies for my music. I take pride in sharing my music worldwide and consistently producing several songs each week. Participating in songwriter rounds allows me to gather valuable feedback.
And the response is always positive and exciting what people say or share about me. What sets me apart is my distinctive style, professional approach, and the uniqueness of my voice, creating a distinct identity in the music scene. I pride myself in creating my style of modern vintage pop appearances and an alternative punk-pop sound.
Who else deserves credit for your story?
My biggest fans and supporters have to be my parents, without them I could have never been able to drop everything and move to Nashville, they are at every show that I play in, and help me on the business side of my music career. My parents believe that if you have a true talent then why hold back, with hard work and dedication, there is no reason why can’t be successful.
Also, meeting amazing co-writers has been more than giving to my success. Jake Arthur, Kasaan Hammon, and Nick Gienger are great people and talented writers who are amazing at what they do for me. Thank the talented artists have have done my pictures, Haley Mikell, and Nelson Hollinan along with videos by Grayson Green. Their creativity combined with my vision and mission has helped me show people who I am.
I have had the pleasure of working with Brett and Tom at Zodlounge producing some of my songs, Smith Curry has been so creative and wonderful to work with on my new upcoming single, as well as Schlyar Shoates has been amazing to help me create and produce a great song.
Lastly, I have to thank all my cheerleader friends and family in St. Louis who watched my career grow, attended all my shows, and supported me in my big move.
