Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Schmidt.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my journey as a fashion designer in 2012 when I lived in San Francisco, CA! My brand is JenniferSSchmidt Collection. When I first started out, I was focused primarily on womenswear. Since then, I have done menswear, plus-size, bridal, custom designs, and costume design.
My work has been shown in both San Francisco & New York Fashion Week. As well as seen at the Grammys and on Food Network for ‘Outrageous Pumpkins’ and ‘Halloween Wars’.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey as a fashion designer has not been a smooth road but with any dream, there are always ups and downs, set backs as well as wins!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a fashion designer that mostly specializes in womenswear but has also expanded to menswear and custom designs. What I am most proud of is constantly learning new skills and evolving as a designer. What sets me apart from others is being willing to step outside my comfort zone and saying yes to new opportunities in order to grow.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like best about Sacramento is that there is a lot of hidden and emerging talent waiting to be discovered!
