Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeorgia Rose
Jeorgia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Jeorgia Rose. I’m a 21 year old pop country singer/songwriter from Cheshire in the UK. I have always loved music and grew up always wanting to write my own songs. I had a go at writing songs on the piano when I was younger but it wasn’t until I was about 13/14 that I started to write songs as a way to get my emotions out. It very quickly became my life, I learnt to play the guitar and it was all I really wanted to do with my time; every day at school I was just waiting until I could go home to sing, play and write more. I had always felt massively drawn to country music being a huge fan of people like Taylor Swift, Kelsea Ballerini, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood. I was only ever doing music as a hobby really but when high school ended at 16, I decided I wanted to go to a college that focused on music performance and songwriting – here I spent the next two years learning and growing as an artist and tried to make as many connections as possible. I ended up putting my first song out at 17 and just tried to play as many shows as I could. Lockdown happened pretty soon after this, there wasn’t much for me to do other than sit at home and write – this is where I started my journey posting my music onto TikTok. Once travel was available again I booked my first flight to Nashville. I stayed for a month so I could get to know the city, book some writing sessions and actually ended up playing at The Bluebird Cafe on my last week which was a dream come true. When I got home I knew Nashville was the city I needed to be in to make my dreams happen so I just kept working to get there. Shortly after this, my management company found me on TikTok, they’re based in the US so they’ve been amazing with putting me in touch with writers, producers etc out there. Since I met them I’ve been on multiple writing trips to Nashville and LA, and have been lucky enough to release songs along the way. I even got to go on a mini tour over in America and have now played at the Listening Room twice with the song suffragettes which feels very surreal. Over the last year and a half I have been pouring my heart and soul into putting together my debut album ‘Blooming’. I wanted this album to feel very cohesive, I didn’t want it to seem like I had just written a bunch of songs and decided to put them on an album. I wanted it to feel like they all linked together in a sense. With imagery such as Blooming, Heatwave and Anchor all kind of relating to parts of the world, and other songs like Let My Body… and Making Lemonade talking about space and travel, it all felt like it fitted together. I also really tried to give the album a good range of slower songs along with more uptempo tunes while still making it sound cohesive. I have always just wanted to make people feel seen and heard while listening to my music so if I can do that for even one person i’ll feel rewarded. My nexts steps are to officially make the move to Nashville and to hopefully tour the album.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think some of the hardest things I have had to learn is that it’s not going to happen overnight and you are always going to face rejection in some way or another but you just have to pick yourself back up again, remember who you are and appreciate the small successes along the way rather than focusing on the one big goal.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a pop country artist. I write my own songs, play guitar and piano and love to perform. I am UK based at the moment but am working really hard to make the move to Nashville and in the mean time I am just travelling back and forth to meet as many people as I can and make as many connections as possible. I think what sets me apart is my drive and work ethic. It takes a lot to enter the music industry and try to make it, but to move across the world to make it happen is another thing and I won’t stop until I get there.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I think I just used to love being with family. I feel like my whole life has always revolved around music in one way or another and having quite a musical family helped with that. I remember growing up being absolutely obsessed with Hannah Montana and Taylor Swift which probably added to my love of country music.
