Today we’d like to introduce you to Kat, Presley, and Josie Hall
Hi Kat, Presley, and Josie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The Bennett Hall Band was officially established in 2018, but our music journey started before that. When I was about 5 years old, I chose a voice lesson over a jazz dance lesson and I haven’t stopped singing since. Soon after those voice lessons, Presley and I started singing harmony with each other and eventually I picked up the guitar, and Presley the piano. Josie was pretty much born singing, ever since she was 5 years old she has been performing in front of live audiences. The band got its name in 2018 when we performed at The Station Inn and members of the crowd wanted to go find us on social media. The next day we started a Facebook page, and now we have accumulated almost 200k followers on that platform!
We started playing live regularly in 2019, when we had a monthly spot at Mellow Mushroom on Broadway. That really helped us grow our cover song repertoire and gave us lots of experience on stage.
While we were doing this, we were also growing our social media numbers. During Covid, we did Facebook lives at least every other day because people were just sitting around at home. That really gave our page a boost.
We also were starting to write music of our own. We released our first single, “Where’s My Man” in September of 2022, and now we have 17 songs (including a 10 song LP and a Christmas EP) available on all streaming platforms.
As our fanbase has grown, so has our touring schedule! Last year was our busiest year yet, with around 40 dates, 3/4 of them being out of town. Our goal as of now is to play the Grand Ole Opry someday soon. 🙂 -Kat
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
So far, I would say the road has been smooth for us. Although we have been turned down plenty of times, we realize that’s kind of part of the journey and you have to keep pushing on. -Presley
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a country music band based out of Nashville, TN. The Bennett Hall Band is made up of Kat (17), Presley (15), and Josie Hope (12). When we play live, it is usually a mix of cover songs and original songs with lots of three-part harmonies. One thing that sets us apart from a lot of other bands is we don’t just have one lead singer. We all switch off depending on the song. This helps keep the show entertaining.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
It’s hard to pick one, but I feel like a lesson that we have learned is that you have to keep moving forward and work towards getting better/more experienced. We aren’t the only girls in a band that can sing. There are a lot of people in this town that are also working really hard to be in the industry. So we are trying to always meet new people, make new contacts and spend time honing in our work so that when we get a big opportunity, we are ready for it.
