Daily Inspiration: Meet Kate Falcon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kate Falcon.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We’re Sweet Tea Trio — three southern girls brought together by a shared love of music, harmony, and storytelling. Hailing from different parts of Alabama, we each started singing at a young age, influenced by a wide range of sounds — from country and gospel to rock, blues, and soul. Our paths crossed in 2013 through a mutual vocal coach, and the very first time we sang together, there was instant magic. Three distinct voices came together to create one unified sound, and we knew something special had just begun.

What began as small shows around our hometowns quickly turned into something much bigger. We started gaining traction online, building a following, and putting together a team that believed in what we were creating. In the early days, our parents wore all the hats — they were our drivers, road crew, merch team, booking agents, and biggest fans. Looking back on those sweet memories reminds us just how far we’ve come.

In 2016, we released our self-titled debut EP, which debuted at No. 11 on the iTunes Country Chart. Our breakout single “Rebel Romance” quickly made waves, becoming one of the fastest-rising songs on “The Iceman’s New Country Artist Top 40 Chart,” holding the No. 1 spot for four consecutive weeks. It was also featured on Randy Travis’ “Diggin’ Up Songs” playlist, spotlighting up-and-coming talent in the genre.

Momentum kept building, and in 2017, Kid Rock discovered a video of us on YouTube — and shortly after, invited us to open for him on his “Greatest Show on Earth Tour.” We signed with Vector Management and Lost Highway Touring that same year. Since then, we’ve had the honor of opening for legendary artists like Bon Jovi, Alabama, Tracy Lawrence, Deana Carter, Scotty McCreery, Parker McCollum, and many more.

The road hasn’t always been smooth. We’ve faced our share of growing pains, member changes, and challenges that tested our strength. But through every season, we’ve leaned on our faith, our incredible fans, and our passion for the music. In 2020, after the world paused during the pandemic, we released our EP ‘Sugar Rush’, produced by Kid Rock. Our single “All Hat, No Cattle” climbed to #29 on the MusicRow CountryBreakout Chart and led us on a national radio tour that allowed us to connect with fans across the country.

Now, after nearly eleven years in the country music industry, we’re continuing to write and record music that reflects who we are today. We’ve grown from little girls with big dreams into women with purpose and a deep love for our craft — and each other.

At the end of the day, we’re just three best friends chasing a dream together. We’re endlessly grateful for every person who’s supported us, believed in us, and helped shape our journey. The best is yet to come.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Has it been a smooth road? Definitely not — but it’s been a meaningful one!

Back in 2017, just as we felt our career was really gaining momentum, our original member, Savannah, found out she was expecting. After lots of prayer and heartfelt conversations, the three of us, and our team, mutually decided it was best for her to step back from the band and focus on her growing family. We were so happy for her, but it was definitely a tough transition — we’d been a band for nearly six years at that point.

We pushed forward and continued performing, but then in 2020, the global pandemic hit and brought everything to a sudden halt. Like so many others in our industry, we watched our entire tour schedule vanish overnight, and the future felt uncertain. Still, we kept writing, creating, and leaning on each other and our fans to stay grounded.

In 2020, we brought on a new member and by the end of 2022 we had the opportunity to go on a national radio tour promoting our single, “All hat, No Cattle” — an incredible experience we’ll never forget. She made the decision at the beginning of 2023 to step away from the group. That was another unexpected shift, and honestly, was a real test of my faith. I knew God had a plan, and I wasn’t ready to give up — especially not on our fans who have stood by us through it all.

That’s when I called Savannah and asked if she’d be open to rejoining the group — and not long after, Taylor Morrison came on board, too. The very first time the three of us sang together, it just clicked. It felt like we had finally found the sound, the chemistry, and the sisterhood we’d been looking for all along.

In the midst of all these transitions, we’ve also stepped into the “behind-the-scenes” roles ourselves. We now handle our own bookings, manage our social media, are learning the ins and outs of stage production, coordinate our schedules — and still find time to be artists. It’s a lot to juggle, but it’s also incredibly rewarding. We’ve grown so much, both personally and professionally, and we’re proud of what we’ve built.

At the end of the day, we’re still doing what we love: writing music, creating together, and performing for the most incredible country music fans. It’s been a long and winding road, but every chapter has shaped who we are — and for that, we’re so thankful.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We’re Sweet Tea Trio, a harmony-centered country group made up of three best friends who share a deep love for music and storytelling. We specialize in rich three-part harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and high-energy performances that blend country roots with southern rock, gospel, and country influences. We’re known for our tight harmonies and the way our voices naturally complement one another. That’s always been our signature sound, and it’s what sets us apart. We don’t rely on heavy production, we rely on the strength of our voices and the stories we’re telling through our lyrics. Whether it’s an acoustic set or a full band show, we aim to make every performance feel personal and powerful.

We’re incredibly proud of the road we’ve walked — from our early days playing local shows in Alabama, to touring across the country, sharing stages with legends like Bon Jovi, Kid Rock, Alabama, and more. But what we’re most proud of is that we’ve stayed true to ourselves. This band is built on friendship, faith, and a shared dream, and through all the highs and lows, we’ve never lost sight of that.

What truly sets us apart is our chemistry — both musically and personally. We’re not just a band, we’re family. And we think that bond shines through in everything we do, from the way we blend our voices to the way we show up for each other on and off the stage.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, we’re currently working on new music that feels like the most authentic reflection of who we are as artists and as people. We’ve grown up in front of our fans and lyrics have grown with us. Our plan is to release several new singles throughout the year. Each song is different and they’re stories we’ve lived and lessons we’ve learned growing into young women.

We’re also focusing on growing our live show and reaching new audiences. Touring is where we come alive, and we’re looking forward to hitting the road more, connecting with fans face-to-face, and making every performance an experience to remember. We are currently booking shows ourselves so if fans want to reach us or request a show, they can visit our website and inquire there!

As far as BIG changes and goals, we’re always evolving — musically and personally — but one thing that remains constant is our commitment to staying true to ourselves and to the music. We each have big dreams and goals we hope to reach as a band and we’re committed to building something for the long haul, and we’re excited for everything that’s still to come.
