Daily Inspiration: Meet Liv Charette

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Liv Charette.

Hi Liv, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started out as a figure skater with big Olympic dreams. When I was 14, I hung up my skates and asked my grandfather, who is a singer, to teach me to sing. From there, I learned to play guitar and started writing songs. I was born in Ottawa, Canada, but I made Nashville my home in 2015. I’ve been working and creating here ever since! I’ve gotten to do some amazing things through my music. It’s been a dream come true!

Last year, I started filming and posting gaming content in addition to my music content, and it has opened so many new doors for me. I love reminding people that they can be all the things they love at the same time. I am proud to be a recording artist AND a gamer, a guitar collector AND a book lover, a tech nerd AND a makeup junkie!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing great comes without sacrifice, but if you love what you’re doing, it’s always worth it. In today’s music economy, artists can’t just be artists anymore. We also have to be content creators, editors, social media managers, writers, producers, and so much more.

I’ve found that equipping myself with the widest skillset possible has helped me overcome the expectation that artists must be all things all the time. Leaning into the other sides of my personality (gamer, tech nerd, avid reader, etc.) has opened my community to so many people I may not have reached otherwise, so being able to tie it all together has been really rewarding for me!

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a singer, songwriter, gamer, and content creator. I am probably best known for my “Tiny Mic” videos and cozy gaming content on TikTok.

Some of the highlights of my career that I am most proud of include performing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to honor Tina Turner’s induction, working with large gaming brands like Nintendo and Xbox, being featured in NY Mag’s The Strategist for my viral “Tiny Mic” TikTok series, and performing for hospitalized patients through Musicians on Call.

What’s next?
I’m looking forward to releasing more music this year! I’m so beyond excited for the world to hear the songs I’ve been working on – they’re some of my favorite songs I’ve ever written and recorded.

Lots more writing in the future and shows, as well. I hope to continue to grow my community and social media presence in both the music and gaming/tech spaces. Overall, my goal has always been to be able to combine all of my passions into one career, and I can truthfully say I’ve been able to do that and hope to continue to do so on a large scale.
