Daily Inspiration: Meet Marc Weber

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marc Weber.

Hi Marc, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My journey in the music industry started when I attended my first music festival.

Being immersed in the entire experience was eye-opening and I decided at that moment that I wanted to pursue music as a career. With a background in STEM, I eventually found Audio Engineering as a way to balance my current skills with the creativity I wanted to foster in this new field.

Thanks to a few people who truly believed in me, I was able to get many opportunities to expand my knowledge of audio and music. And now I run my own studio!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I must say I am blessed to have had a relatively easy path to where I am. It had a rocky start because I dropped out of a top 50 university to pursue a career in a field I had no professional training.

However, thanks to those around me, I was able to grow as an engineer and producer so I could start making my own way in the music industry.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an audio engineer and producer who specializes in hip-hop, pop, and punk music. I specifically excel in vocal mixing and many of my best credits reflect that, such as my credit on “I Believe” by Cam.

As great as some of my credits are, I am most proud of the new studio that I opened in midtown in February of this year! My partners and I put in a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to renovate the space and make it feel like a safe place for artists to create.

While our studio sets us apart from many of the other engineers in town, what really puts us on our own island is our vocal chain. From our microphones to our preamps, to the rest of our outboard gear, our goal is to make your voice sound as professional and unique as possible.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
You have to take risks! Invest and believe in yourself!

Opening my studio was a massive risk, but it’s already paying off. I opened this studio right after graduating from Belmont University in December of 2021.

I proceeded to invest my entire life savings into the studio because I knew that if I could get the right pieces of gear and equipment around me, I could attract people to come work with me. I invested in myself, and it’s paying off.

TAKE! RISKS!
