Daily Inspiration: Meet Marcus Wilson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Marcus Wilson.

Hi Marcus, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
In 2013-2014 I made a terrible decision and got convicted of a felony. it was a struggle to do right by my family and myself while I was in prison, it’s a world of its own and you have to survive, I got into a prison fight and ended up on a close security custody level a level below max, While I was on close, I found/rediscovered my faith in Jesus Christ, it was a blessing in disguises. Ever since God has been blessing me. I have an 8-year-old daughter she was born while I was in Juvenile and when I got released, I met the love of My life and we have a 14-month son! God has blessed me. Also, when I got released from prison, a week later I had a job working on natural gas lines. I have been there for 3 years and I made a foreman position within a year which is very rare. I have my own business as well doing excavation/utilities and demolition work, I like to keep busy that way I stay out of trouble. I plan on eventually going full-time with my own business. All this is from my blessings of God!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Being a felon is kind of hard in America, you almost a second-class citizen, being financially stable is also an obstacle because I always have to think about my family, not just me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My current main job is installing Natural Gas services, I also have my own business doing excavation/utilities and demolition work.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
