Daily Inspiration: Meet Matthew

Today we’d like to introduce you to Matthew.

Hi Matthew, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a musical family so from very young age I’ve been surrounded by all kinds of music. There’s never really been anything else I ever wanted to do other than make music and art. I’m originally from Pennsylvania but moved to Nashville in 2017 to pursue music as a career. Since moving here I believe I have grown as an artist dramatically! I moved here with just a handful of songs that I had written. Now I write every day. Even if it’s just a start or an idea of a song. I released my first full length album in November of 2022 and since then have released multiple singles and a EP.. I’ve written songs for other artists as well as played on other artist’s recordings. Plus co-wrote and released an EP titled Leggy Noss self titled EP.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There is always struggles when it comes to being a creative or making music. Always trying to write or record what you hear in your head and get it close as possible. to how you feel it should be. Plus just living life and day to day situations while you are trying to make the best music you can

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I guess first and foremost I consider myself a artist. If I wasn’t making music I know I would be finding another way to express myself creatively. I would say I’m probably best known for being the person always ready to get to work and make it happen. Probably the thing that I am most proud of is my collaborations with other artist. I love co-writing with other artists. I feel it helps be get out of my way of thinking and expand my writing abilities. Also very proud of playing multiple instruments on other artists sessions and making there visions come to life. What sets me apart from others is my motivation. I am always taking on new projects and pushing myself to expand my knowledge and abilities.

What are your plans for the future?
I’m currently looking to finish my second full album and have released sometime this year.
