Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Gomez.
Hi Michelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had a passion for photography. When I was in high school, I was on the yearbook staff and had the best time capturing memories for everyone to look back on for years to come. It’s kinda funny because I have a medical degree and worked in the medical field for several years before I found my way back to photography. It was more of a hobby than anything until we lost a son. My world was shattered and I was in a dark place. But I knew I didn’t want to turn to bad avenues to handle my grief so I started pouring my heart into my art. That’s when my business really soared. When I tell people that I put my heart into every session, it’s not a lie. Because I truly do. I know we all love a feel-good story but mine isn’t one of those. Unless you look at the trials and tribulations I went through to get here. That’s the feel-goods.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road. It has been a lot of trial and a whole lot of error along the way. But I have grown as a better photographer and business owner with every trial I’ve been through.
My biggest struggle was finding confidence in myself. I had to believe in myself before anyone else would.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider myself a creative photographer. Every session is unique and I make sure to highlight each specific session. I also love to find angles/poses/sessions that might not be ordinary. I am so proud of myself for being able to be my family’s sole income while doing a job I absolutely love. Every day is an adventure.
What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is making someone love themselves. Especially in my boudoir brand. It is such a rush of joy whenever I can make someone see themselves in a bold, confident and perfect way! People literally cry when they see their images and tell me they cannot believe that’s them.
As I always say “that’s all you. You’re an absolute goddess” because they are!
