Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Lambert.
Hi Michelle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started studying music when I was really young, but when I became a teenager I went from studying music as something to accomplish to having a deep passion for writing pop songs. This path led me to study at a college in Boston and after graduating to hit the road touring.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So many ups and downs. I feel like it’s a roller coaster ride, the highs are so high and the lows can be pretty low. It’s like living life with extra feeling whether it’s good, bad or anything in between it’s always super intense. It brings experiences to write songs about and I’ve always craved the adventure of the gypsy lifestyle.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a singer/songwriter at heart and I use my songs to share about the experiences that I’ve had in life and create a connection with people that are going through similar experiences. A big example of this is my new song “Ballerina”. It’s a song written from a girls perspective for other girls about overcoming challenges and having a little fun along the way.
I have been touring throughout the states with my music and playing around 200 shows a year. I am aiming to be touring in Europe for the 2027 season.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Don’t be shy. My biggest mentor, Reggie Wooten, I met after a concert and I asked if we could meet for a coffee sometime to ask questions and connect about music. It was the easiest thing in the world, and I am a huge introvert, but when it’s right everything clicks.
