Today we’d like to introduce you to Miranda Guerra.
Hi Miranda, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I haven’t always been healthy and I haven’t always been captivated by birth but along my own personal journey, I have found a deep passion for both of these.
God breathed a dream in my heart in 2017 to help people in their health as I had my own major health transformation and was eager to help others achieve that as well! Because of this, I became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer in 2018 and started taking on clients. I then became a PNL1 Nutrition Coach in 2020 to better help me guide my clients through their goals and be most successful with their efforts. In 2022, I became a Certified Pre & Postnatal Fitness and Nutrition Coach so that I could expand my expertise to serving mamas. At the time, I didn’t realize this course was laying the foundation for an even deeper passion.
Shortly after completing this, I became pregnant and was able to apply all I had learned to my own pregnancy. In addition to this, I became compelled to learn more about Gods design within the body during pregnancy and birth. I was astounded by the realization that, often in the name of safety, the medical model’s excessive reliance on technology and interventions can inadvertently harm women, undermining the natural physiological process of birth. My research and personal convictions led me to choose a home birth, allowing me to embrace the evident design of childbirth without fear of numerous possible interventions. This journey also fostered a deep sense of conviction, leading me to become a Doula in 2023, so that I could partner with parents in bringing God’s glory back to birth.
I now have two beautiful daughters and my birthing experiences have profoundly transformed me, and the journey of motherhood continues to shape me every day. As a Doula, I’m fully committed to empowering other women by guiding them with confidence and strength from trying to conceive through postpartum and beyond.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
One of my biggest struggles is my capacity to be both an entrepreneur doing what I love and being a full time mother, which is my greatest calling. Because of this, I’ve chosen to limit the number of births I personally attend. This decision has led to growth in unexpected and beautiful ways. I’ve brought on Alejandra, a gifted doula whose heart and values align perfectly with the mission of Well Rounded Mamas. Her presence allows us to serve more families without compromising the quality or spirit of care we’re known for. This challenge has also inspired me to create a birth education course designed to equip expecting parents with the knowledge and confidence to experience birth the way God designed it. They learn how to care for the body during pregnancy, understand the stages of labor and delivery, navigate common birth interventions, inductions, C-sections, and VBACs, and how to make informed evidence-based decisions. I also cover postpartum healing, breastfeeding, and newborn care — all through the lens of God’s intentional design. The course includes supplemental videos and resources to help families feel fully prepared, supported, and empowered.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a doula, I am a trained non medical professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and evidence based educational support to a woman and her family during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. My niche is supporting physiological birth, oftentimes within a home birth setting. My mission is to bring Gods glory back to birth by helping women understand the power they hold and the beautiful design within them.
Many women and their partners find that having a doula provides invaluable support during one of the most transformative experiences of their lives. Numerous studies have shown that the presence of a doula during birth can lead to shorter labor times, reduced need for pain medication, fewer cesarean sections, and a more positive overall birth experience.
