Daily Inspiration: Meet Nadia Foxworth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nadia Foxworth.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Born and raised in Russia, I immigrated to the U.S. in 2010, living first to Charleston, South Carolina before eventually moving to Nashville in 2018. As an Airbnb Payment Fraud Management specialist by day, passion-project artist by night, I began working with paper to transform easily accessible materials into large-scale flower installations. Some examples of my work include fully customizable giant free-standing flowers, decorated arches, and interior and exterior backdrops.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the short time I have lived in Nashville, I have seen so much change and growth in myself, my friends, and the community. People from across the country and even around the world are relocating to Nashville, bringing with them so much diversity and adding strength to this town. Like so many other artists, this growth has inspired my inner creativity and given me an outlet to express myself. At the time I knew very few people so actively networked to build my connections. All the progress I had made came to a sudden halt when a deadly tornado ripped through my neighborhood and society was thrust into a global pandemic. Even though it was an incredibly challenging time to get my business off the ground, I learned so much from the experience.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Being an immigrant from Russia, I am incredibly proud of myself for building a career in the States and being a self-reliant, single boss babe. My work ethic sets me apart from others and allows me to pursue my dreams to the fullest extent. I love transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary floral worlds and enabling people to immerse themselves in my art. I’m also grateful to have met so many new people who continue to inspire me and help me grow professionally.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts, or blogs that help you do your best?
Floral art is very popular all over the world. I follow and stay in contact with floral artists primarily in Russia and China, but I find I’m most inspired when I travel. I recently visited Puerto Rico and fell in love with the natural island beauty and vibrant culture. Seeing the world through the eyes of another is truly magical.
