Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Dendy.
Hi Natalie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I was born and raised in Orange County, California and spent some time in Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Nashville in 2001 to pursue my dream of working on the artist management side of the Christian music business. I graduated from Belmont University and dove right into my dream career of working with artists at various record labels. The music industry went through big changes in 2004, and I found myself laid off from my dream position. I went back to Belmont, earned my Master’s degree in University Education, and began teaching college courses. I then married and had a daughter. By the time my daughter, London, was four years old- she started acting and booking commercials and music videos. It was then I realized my dream of working with music artists was similar to that of working with actors. I managed my daughter as her career grew, and I saw a lot of interest from others wanting to know how to become an actor and do what London was doing. In the film and TV industry, there wasn’t a lot of talent reps focusing solely on actors who wanted to pursue careers in positive or faith-based/family projects. I went back to my roots and work in the music industry and applied it to a talent management aspect for actors and in 2019 BoldLine Entertainment was born. Today, I manage around 15 actors from the southeast area, mostly in the Nashville area.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening a brand-new business, a couple months before a pandemic was a huge challenge! Anyone in the entertainment industry can attest to how difficult the last couple of years has been. Personally, building a roster of actors in a world of virtual and taped auditions and meetings is also somewhat of a challenge. However, I am excited for the future of BoldLine as we continue to adapt and make new ways for productions to happen.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
BoldLine Entertainment is a talent management company that specializes in developing and managing actors who focus on positive, family-friendly, and faith-based films and tv projects. BoldLine reps and develops actors, we work with talent agents and become a team around an actor, so that the actor can build their brand, book projects, and grow in the entertainment industry. I am proud of what BoldLine is known for- it is in our name- we are bold and not afraid to stand out and be set apart and also known for top-of-the-line talent. I am proud for being a light in a challenging industry. Directors, producers, and studios know the quality of talent that comes from BoldLine and I want to continue to build that reputation.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Franklin/Nashville is continually growing! I love that Nashville is also becoming a major location for the film and TV industry. It’s awesome when actors can stay in their own backyard and be part of incredible projects. Franklin (where BoldLine is based) is a perfect place full of so many creatives- what’s not to like!
