Daily Inspiration: Meet Nita Perez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nita Perez.

Hi Nita, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born in Baton Rouge, LA., in September 2007. I started singing around the same time I learned to talk. I joined my first kid’s band at age 6 years (2014) old and still perform with the same kid band locally today, so that’s 8 years now. I began taking guitar, piano, and vocal lessons 9 years old. As soon as I could put chords together, I began composing original songs around age 9. I began piano lessons with Phil Kanakis at age 11. (2019) I began voice training with Phil Kanakis at age 12. (2019, late in the year). I began recording my first album, “There’s A World,” with Phil Kanakis in 2020 during COVID Lockdown. I recorded and released my latest single, “Wisdom of the Goddess.” 2022. Produced by Phil Kanakis of Nananda Records and mixed by Jeff Silverman of Palette Studios in Nashville. I got involved with Nicki Kris and Natalie Jean of Sisters in Music in 2022, and they invited me to play on the Sisters in Music Stage at the Nashville Palace for the Josie Music Fest 2022.

We all face challenges, but would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The only struggles are finding the time and balancing school work, music, and being a teenager. We homeschool, which helps a lot with time management.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love sharing my message with the world through music. I specialize in using my voice to uplift and heal through music. I’m proud of my music and feel honored that many people have written to tell me how my performance touched them. Well, I am still a teenager, 15 years old. That sets me apart from others.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Being true to myself and my message is most important to my success.
