Daily Inspiration: Meet Priscilla Evans

Today we’d like to introduce you to Priscilla Evans

Hi Priscilla , so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Priscilla Evans—a devoted mother of four, a military wife, and now, a business owner. I used to say I had lost myself in motherhood, but now I realize I’ve transformed through it. My daughters are my world, and everything I do, I do for them—and I do it well.

As a military family, we’ve moved to unfamiliar places without the comfort of nearby loved ones. Finding a community of supportive moms made all the difference for me, and I wanted to create that same sense of belonging for others. That’s why I became an ambassador for The Mom Walk Collective in Clarksville, TN—to help moms connect, support one another, and build friendships that make motherhood a little easier.

Entrepreneurship has always been a dream of mine, and I’ve long been drawn to the fun and energy that photo booths bring to celebrations. My husband and I actually took our first photo together in a photo booth—on our very first date, after sneaking into a corporate party! That moment still holds a special place in my heart.

For years, I put my dream on hold, thinking it wasn’t possible amid the chaos of marriage, kids, and military life. But every time I attended an event, I’d find myself imagining my own photo booth setup, bringing joy to others. Eventually, I stopped dreaming and took action.

That’s how Retrato Photo Booth came to life. “Retrato,” meaning “photograph” in Tagalog, is a tribute to my Filipino heritage—something I wanted to infuse into my business. Filipinos are warm, welcoming, and fun, and I wanted my business to reflect that same energy.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Military life comes with constant uncertainty—frequent moves, unfamiliar places, and the challenge of raising a family without the support of nearby loved ones. With my husband often away, I’ve had to navigate a lot on my own, balancing motherhood, business, and everything in between. It’s been tough, but it’s also taught me resilience, adaptability, and the importance of building a strong community wherever I go.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Retrato Photo Booth is all about creating a personalized, unforgettable experience. Every detail is tailored to match the event’s theme, ensuring that guests don’t just take photos—they make lasting memories. What makes my business unique is the energy and creativity I bring to every booking. I’m hands-on from start to finish, making sure everything runs smoothly and that guests are having a great time.

I’m always looking for new ways to elevate my services. From interactive add-ons like a memory book station to creative extras like glitterized photos, I love finding fresh ways to make each event special. My goal isn’t just to provide a photo booth—it’s to create moments that people will cherish long after the event is over.
