Daily Inspiration: Meet Rachel Peck

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Peck.

Hi Rachel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My husband and I started 431 Ministries after helping a single mom facing homelessness. During our time with her, we discovered there was nowhere for her to go to learn the skills she needed to gain stability. After we helped her gain independence, word spread, and more women were referred to us. Seeing the ongoing need for a new type of help, 431 Ministries was founded on May 10, 2018. 431 exists to serve women who have been through hardships, offering opportunities to find hope and develop a plan for an independent future.

These opportunities are what fill the gap and create the next steps that take women from uncertainty to stability.

Our vision and hope is that 431 Ministries not only fills this gap, but is ultimately a place where all women are known, seen, and loved.

431 Ministries serves women who are trying to hold life together after losing the relationship, stability, or support system they once depended on. This can be due to divorce, the death of a spouse, abuse, becoming an adult without preparation, and many more nuanced situations.

431 offers:

stabilization of the situation
navigation of next steps
relational support
structured building or rebuilding of goals
practical independence coaching
Hope for the future

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It is the nature of ministries and non profits in general to have challenges along the way. Some of the challenges come from finding funding or the right people to join the team. But most of the challenges we face are how best to serve the women who walk through our door who face such difficult and unique circumstances. Each woman has her own personal story that does not exactly mirror anyone else. We have been so blessed through our staff and the volunteers we have to be able to meet the needs of those women who desire to walk the difficult path to independence and freedom from their past circumstances.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My work has fueled exponential, sustainable growth—now serving over 200 unique women per year—and has drawn national and international attention. Organizations from Pennsylvania, New York, and even Australia have sought my mentorship to replicate my unique approach in their own communities.

I am a respected speaker, strategist, and advocate for women often left out of traditional systems. I created tools like the Re:Store Me Assessment© to track holistic progress across life and employment goals, and regularly train leaders in nonprofit governance and client-centered program design.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My two favorite childhood memories were specifically reading “Cheaper by the Dozen” as a family, and learning to sing a four-part harmony.
