Daily Inspiration: Meet Richard Gooch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Richard Gooch.

Hi Richard, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
After working for a Fortune 500 moving company for close to a decade I was fired for leaving a job to be at hospital with my wife to see the birth of my beautiful daughter.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After Being laid off during COVID and having a wife and new baby to provide for I hit my knees, cried and prayed for an answer and God said take the skills I’ve given you and serve my people and I will take care of the rest and he has! It’s been a slow bootstrapping process but with the support of each customer we are growing each day.
Last year was rough because our home caught fire the 4th of July and we lost virtually everything. The next day I was back at it working in shoes someone from the church had donated. The community and the church rallied with us as we were displaced and God provided work opportunities so I could continue to feed my family.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We have always prided ourselves on going the extra mile whenever it’s possible. From saving someone who has accidentally locked themselves out of their new home by scaling their balcony like Spider-Man to transporting the ashes of a deceased loved one cross country in time for a families memorial service! The appreciation is what drives our determination.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
I have learned that I can’t rush the process, I must trust the process. I have also learned that trusting in God will see me through every storm no matter how bleak circumstances may appear.
