Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheree Greider.
Hi Sheree, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I have been a painter all my life. I knew at 4 years old that I desired to be an artist. I sold my first painting at 14 but did not become a full time painter until 2017.
I’m self taught and have learned largely by trial and error. In recent years I’ve shipped paintings all over the US and have been featured in several solo and group shows.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In some ways it’s been smooth and steady. I have had consistent success but it has built slowly. I hope I can continue to grow and achieve the best possible work and opportunities.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My style features wild vivid color and texture, expansive horizons, huge dramatic clouds and rainbows. Sometimes I add a bison or a herd of ponies, a wizened old warrior or a cowboy. My style is ,”New West”. It is a modern or contemporary take on the classic western tradition.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My family has been a largest supporter. Two of my children are professional artists.
