Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicki Kris and Natalie Jean. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Nicki Kris and Natalie Jean, co-founders of Sisters in Music, are a team of sisters connected by the heartbeat of music that resonates throughout their mind, body, and spirit. We take the business-artist approach with Sisters in Music, which started during COVID-19 putting many of us inside our dwellings with time to ponder “life’s purpose.”
As musical artists and friends, we were looking for ways to galvanize women in the music and entertainment industry to empower and uplift each other and allow them to benefit from the support of a collective sisterhood. We know that there are onlookers that believe the music business is a joyful love-fest where everyone has an opportunity to participate.
We know that many women artists don’t necessarily understand where or how to find a safe door of entry into the music business. We built Sisters in Music as a creative hub that helps propel them into a community of purpose.
Through our Podcasts; Chatting with Nat and Mixing It With Nicki Kris as well as our SIM JAM events we offer an interview, promotional, airplay, and live performance opportunities for women and the men that support them free from the competitive nature of the music business.
As we continue to expand our non-profit business and offerings, we’re focused on educational offerings, such as informational panels and workshops as well as musical collaboration projects that promote the spirit of unity and togetherness.
Our membership mission statement: A win for one is a win for all. We are here to empower, embrace, and support each other through a collective family of sisters and brothers. Be kind to one another, encourage, collaborate, and help educate whenever possible.
A flower does not think of competing with the flower next to it. It just blooms. “Together we are stronger.”
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We’ve certainly had and still have some challenges trying to get our message across. We’re trying to get women to support other women, embrace our differences, work together, and encourage and empower each other.
We feel empowered when we help others, especially other women who are trying to attain the same goals that we are. We love the idea of breaking down barriers and helping others climb the ladder to success. It’s a thrill to uplift and supports other women in the music, entertainment, and performing arts, it’s almost intoxicating.
Between managing our podcasts and events it’s a lot of work for both of us. Oftentimes we even put our own personal endeavors on hold or on the back burner to further our mission. We’re in it for the long haul as we believe that with our perseverance and dedication, the end result will be amazing.
We believe that a win for one is a win for all. To stand up for our rights and equal place in this business we need to band and work together. Instead of competing with each other, we need to realize that we’re all on the same team.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

What do you think about luck?
Destiny is probably a better word to describe how the SIM co-founders became friends through a love for music and a passion for female empowerment.
The formation of Sisters In Music is the result of what happens when you commit to growing, learning, and taking chances. Being “destined for greatness” only comes through active and conscious decisions.
