Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacy Rule.
Hi Stacy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in an extremely small town in Ct (population of barely 10,000) and a household where I was considered a “big dreamer”. I always wanted to be a vet until I entered a technical high school. My senior year of hairdressing our class had the opportunity to work more with the public and granted it was 90% senior citizens from the nursing home across the street, but to see the looks on their faces at the end of their service was indescribable. That’s where the big-dreaming really took place. I graduated in 2008 with not only a high school degree but also my hairdressing license. My very first job behind the chair was at Mansfield Ct Jcpennys salon. I had such incredible mentors including an amazing boss Donna who passed away shortly after but left an imprint in my heart. From there I salon hopped trying to find the type of salon that fit me best. I landed in a walk-in-based corporate salon for 7 years. I met some of the best people including clients that changed my career in a way I never knew possible. I started with a mindset of just getting a paycheck to pay the bills and I was good at it but that turned into strong bonds where some even became as close as family. I watched a few clients fight illnesses, win/lose their battles with cancer, having children, go through divorce, or just as simple as staying up with the trends. I was more than just a hair appointment and I cherished that. I could be the person who fixed their bad day even if it meant a new style that gave them confidence… That meant more to me than any pay check but eventually the business started to take a toll on me. I knew I needed to make a change, my clients and I deserved better so I went out on my own and rented a chair. As much as I loved the girls I worked with and the environment, I knew my growth was limited and my husband and I always wanted to raise our family in the south. Long story short this pandemic came and our life in Ct became even more unstable and unpredictable. We decide to take a huge risk and pack our kids up and move 1000 miles away from all we’ve ever know at a chance to live our dream in middle TN. I knew I didn’t want to start all over again so I did as much research as possible to learn all the steps in becoming an actual business owner. Although I left 12 years of clients behind, my career has taken off and I’ve started to create some great new relationships.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest struggle was finding the perfect salon environment that fit my life even if that meant start all over 1000 miles away from my hometown
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a hairstylist that loves all the trade has to offer. I don’t want to say I specialize in one particular area because I love learning new techniques or trends. I think they all complement each other. I mean what a great hair color without the right cut and style. Or a great cut and style without a glossy healthy color and then you have beautiful brows that complete the look. To me, it’s a package deal. Back home in Ct, my coworkers know that’s how I am especially with brows because aside of hair that’s the first thing you see, well at least I do.
What I’m proud of is who I am as a stylist/salon owner. I truly am passionate about what I do. I love my clients to love how they look it makes us both feel great. To me, it’s more than just a head of hair. Each client has a story and I think that plays a huge part.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is spending our summer break in Maryland. I loved making memories with my extended family. There were so many laughs and so much love in one room.

I know Stacy from Ct. Women wear many hats, friend, wife, mother, hairstylist, daughter. No matter which hat she’s wearing she does it well with style and grace. Keep making your dreams come true!
