Daily Inspiration: Meet Steve Bridgmon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Steve Bridgmon.

Hi Steve, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been my lifeline, the thread that pulled me through some tough beginnings and gave me a sense of purpose. Growing up, I faced more than my share of challenges, but faith and music kept me grounded. Every setback became another verse in my story, shaping the sound and soul behind what I do today.
Moving to Nashville wasn’t easy but it meant starting over, taking risks, and believing that my voice had a place in a city full of talent. But step by step, door by door, I found my rhythm. Now, every time I step on stage or hear one of my songs touch someone’s heart, I’m reminded how far Grace and perseverance can take you. When people ask me if I ever thought this could be my life, I initially want to say no, but if you envision it, you can make it happen.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nashville has been very good to me. Although the pandemic stopped live shows and travel/touring for a bit, I learned how to pivot in a changing world of what we know as the music industry. From Tiktok, to Instagram, being a bit older had both its challenges and its benefits. I think owning my own masters and blazing my own trail has been the biggest benefit when it comes to navigating the music industry.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
In the inspirational music world, I’ve dedicated my life to creating songs that speak to faith, hope, and resilience. My mission has always been to uplift people and to remind them that no matter how heavy life gets, there’s always light waiting on the other side. From my early days singing in church in Kentucky to recording and living in Nashville, I’ve worked to blend heartfelt storytelling with a message that moves people closer to grace. My music isn’t just about melody; it’s about ministry through song.

Over the years, I’ve been blessed to see my work reach audiences across the country and beyond. My songs have earned recognition on Christian and inspirational music charts with eight #1 songs and over 20 top 10 singles, and I’ve had the honor of performing on national stages (national anthem for the Los Angeles Lakers, Holiday Music Fest at Mall of America, The Grand Ole Opry House, etc), sharing stories that connect us all through faith. I’ve also been fortunate to receive industry awards and nominations that remind me how far perseverance and purpose can carry a person. But more than any accolade, what matters most to me is hearing from someone who says a song helped them through a difficult time, that’s the real measure of success.

Every performance, every lyric, every note is another chance to give back what music once gave me: hope. Nashville has given me the platform to live out that calling, and I’m grateful every day to keep sharing songs that inspire hearts and strengthen spirits.

Hosting the national competition THE SOUND OF SMALL TOWN AMERICA has benefitted me of making other artists dreams come true by giving them exposure as well. My new audio and video podcast “ON THE ROW” will begin airing in January 2026 with my first guest being country music artist and Tiktoker Thomas Mac.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned throughout my journey in music has come from simply watching others. I’ve seen talented artists lose sight of what truly matters: letting ego, pride, or personal ambition take the lead instead of gratitude and humility. It’s easy to get caught up in chasing recognition or the next big opportunity, but I’ve come to understand that success built on self-interest never lasts.

For me, staying grounded in faith and humility is the only way to keep my heart aligned with my purpose. This industry can be challenging, but I’ve learned that when you put others first, when you serve instead of striving only to be seen, that’s when real joy and fulfillment come. I never want to forget that every blessing, every stage, and every song is a gift, not a guarantee. Watching what happens when people lose sight of that has reminded me to always lead with grace, gratitude, and a servant’s heart.
