Daily Inspiration: Meet Sweet Desire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sweet Desire.

Hi Sweet, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In 2020, our drummer Trey Boore and guitarist Kenton Lewis started getting together to play music. We started out playing a lot of 90’s alternative and grunge, but we gradually found a love for 60’s and 70’s Blues/Rock music. In the summer of 2021, we began looking/auditioning for another guitar player and eventually landed on Jordan McCaulley, who in his own opinion is not a great guitarist. In a last ditch effort he offered to sing, and that he can do quite well. Later in the year we began playing shows around Altoona as a 3 piece with a substitute bassist where we played strictly covers. We met and jammed with a bass player named Josh Simpson who fit in with our style immediately. From there we began writing our own songs and playing as many shows as we possibly could. In early 2023, we traveled to Plymouth Michigan to do our first studio recordings, where we met and collaborated with Jimmie Bones, keyboardist of Kid Rock. Out of these sessions came our first single, Raspberry Joe Blues which was released in June of 2023. In August of that year, Jimmie offered us a slot to open for the Steve Miller Band at Pine Knob Music Theatre in Detroit. Since then we’ve had the opportunity to open for bands like Quiet Riot and Sponge. In 2024 we released 3 singles and started playing in more states for more and more crowds. In 2025 we released 2 singles, The Dealer and Too Much to Please, played our first show in Nashville, and signed with a management company Bald Hippie Productions, who have been booking us shows in places like New York and Florida. We’ve just finished a very lengthy recording process in the studio and are planning to release more music and play as many shows for as many people as possible this year and for as long as people continue to show up and buy the merch or download the songs.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. Personal struggles, Scheduling, Commitment, Vehicle troubles, and Equipment malfunctions

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
we are a band from Altoona Pennsylvania who are writing and performing music reminiscent of 1960s-1970s rock and blues in both sound and visual representation. We’re most proud of the success we’ve gained from being independent. We also believe that what sets us apart from other acts is our authenticity to the lifestyle and cultures of the 60’s and 70’s.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
in 5-10 years we plan to have a multitude of music out, and be on tour in some capacity, whether its opening for bigger names or a headlining tour of our own. overall we want to spread our music to as many people as we can and hopefully inspire someone out there to pick up an instrument or join a band instead of an unhealthy or artificial habit.
