Today, we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Rodrigues.
Hi Taylor, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for sharing your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
I got into content creation when I moved to Nashville in 2021.
I wanted to share my days with the world while living in the biggest city I have ever lived in. I grew up in California but was about an hour away from any cool city with anything to do. Coming to Nashville sparked this creative outlet in me, and I started going after it.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It’s absolutely not been a smooth road. I didn’t have the journey that some other creatives have here in Nashville, especially when it comes to social media. I have had an uphill battle since I started to take this seriously.
That being said, it’s been a great experience. I have learned a lot and developed my skills and mindset over the past three years of chasing this dream. In a way, I’m glad that it has been working, and I thank God that everything is unfolding in His timing.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe you can tell us more about your work next?
I am a Content Creator based here in Nashville. I love to showcase Nashville in a way that isn’t the main tourist trap in town.
I specialize in showing you coffee shops and other restaurants to visit as if you were a local to Nashville. I love the feeling of discovering places off the beaten path, as well as not a typical tourist thing to do in town. I understand that these things are more likely to go viral. However, I love my point of view on this city.
Currently, I am creating content around trying to check off all coffee shops here in town. I am currently up to 52! It’s a fun challenge for me, and creating content about it because there is always a new shop popping up.
What changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think that the Creator/Influencer industry is going to continue to grow. I do, however, think that the type of creator/influencer will change.
As a woman of color, I think there is a shift happening where brands are focusing more on using creators who look like us. The shift will continue as the face of your favorite brands will hopefully be diversified.
We see this with brands like Topicals, Parade, and Kiehl’s, which utilize creators of all kinds.
