Today we’d like to introduce you to Trey Bonner.
Hi Trey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama, but I went to Middle Tennessee State University because I knew that I wanted to work in the music industry. I graduated with a major in audio engineering and a minor in business. While at MTSU, I took a few photography classes to fulfill some of my elective requirements. My college roommate, Jasper Charles, was an artist, and one day he was like “dude you have a camera, let’s go shoot a video” and from there on I was absolutely hooked. There was no turning back then. I reached out to Trey Lewis back when he was still living in Alabama and we started working together I think around 2017. Over the years we stayed friends, and when he moved to Tennessee, we were able to shoot more content. Last year I was fortunate enough to create content for the song “Dicked Down In Dallas” which forever changed his and my life. These past few years I have worked with many talented artists from both Birmingham and Nashville.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I think the hardest part was figuring out who I am as a person and what drives me. I think anybody can create videos, but to really figure out what means something to you and makes you want to get up every day and be your best is important.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in creating promotional content for artists and brands. I am known for bringing unique ideas to the project that are creative and out of the box.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have the best group of friends in the world. Obviously, Jasper Charles who got me into creating content in the first place. Trey Lewis for consistently bringing me on tour throughout the years and allowing me to keep growing with him once he had a huge audience from Dicked Down In Dallas. I have so many friends that have been a great support group over the years: Nick Tressler, Alex Maxwell, Dawson Edwards, Cody Parks, and so many others. They really believed in me when I had nothing going on. Currently, we are all working together in the music industry and still helping each other.
