Today we’d like to introduce you to WEEPING.
Hi WEEPING, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up singing in the church and The Greater Atlanta Girls Choir, which really established a love of music for me early on. My mother was a classically trained pianist and my father played most instruments by ear.
I moved to Nashville to pursue studio engineering at The Blackbird Academy in 2019, but didn’t start performing as WEEPING until 2025 with my lead single “Dance the Axe”.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The gap between 2019 and the release of my first single in 2025 affected me deeply — I became disillusioned, feeling Nashville was too oversaturated with artists that looked and sounded the same. I didn’t fit that mold, so I didn’t even try after I graduated from my studio engineering program. I still composed and wrote songs, but it was very much a secretive practice.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer, producer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter.
I lovingly call WEEPING’s genre horrorpop — inspired by soundtracks of horror classics like The Shining and Hereditary.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
When I began this project with all of my shelved demos in 2024, my most innate self returned to me. Re-learning autonomy over myself and my artistic expression / endeavors has been the greatest gift … and I mourn all of the years I’d lost not being WEEPING, succumbing to what I thought was love or success.
