eauclaire’s Stories, Lessons & Insights

We’re looking forward to introducing you to eauclaire. Check out our conversation below.

Hi eauclaire, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Our fams! We’re just a group of dads who love doing dad stuff. Between summer activities and family vacations we’re loving this season of life.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We are eauclaire! We’re a band from Nashville, TN. We’ve been close friends since college and love writing together. We try our best to write music that is real and relevant to our seasons of life. We have found that when we write about what’s most important to us those are the songs that become most important to other people. We’ve walked through some really hard seasons together – but we’ve found that when we’re together joy can be found no matter where you’re at.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
My dad. He was hardworking – successful in his work and a leader of people. But he never let work overtake him. He was always present for his family. He taught me that even through stressful and hard situations you can be calm, loving, gentle, helpful and always find a solution.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
That joy isn’t only found in success. And suffering doesn’t define who you are and what you can do.

Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? Is the public version of you the real you?
Well we sure hope so! We think we’re pretty much the same dudes whether we’re at home, hanging with friends, or onstage. Just trying to be real, honest, kind, and encouraging no matter where we’re at.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That we were good men to our families. That we were helpful, generous, encouraging, and loving to all.
