Exploring Life & Business with Alexis Frazier & Ronise Parks of TheSculptingArt Day Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Frazier & Ronise Parks.

Hi Alexis & Ronise, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
It all started when my sister and I realized that we both shared a passion for self-care and wellness. Despite the age difference, we both enjoyed trying out different skincare products, experimenting with homemade remedies, and pampering ourselves after a long day.

As I got older and started exploring career paths, we both realized that we wanted to do something that would allow us to pursue our shared interest in wellness while also creating something meaningful and fulfilling. That’s when the idea for a spa started to take shape.

Together, we started brainstorming what we would want in a spa – a relaxing atmosphere, natural and high-quality products, and personalized treatments. We did our research, took courses, went to school to become aestheticians, and worked tirelessly to turn our vision into a reality.

Despite the challenges of starting a business from scratch, our passion and dedication paid off, and our spa quickly became a local favorite. Customers loved the personalized attention they received from us, and the welcoming and nurturing environment we created.

Working together with my sister not only allowed us to pursue our shared passion but also brought us closer together. I learned to appreciate each other’s strengths and work collaboratively towards a common goal. And perhaps most importantly, we created a business that reflected our values and made a positive impact on our community.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Opening any business is rarely a completely smooth road, and the spa industry is no exception. There are often challenges that arise along the way, but with careful planning and dedication, these can be overcome.

Some common challenges that my sister and I have faced when opening our spa include securing funding to get started, finding a suitable location, obtaining the necessary permits and licenses, and navigating the legal and regulatory requirements of the industry.

We also faced competition from established spas in our area and had to work hard to differentiate ourselves and attract clients.
