Today we’d like to introduce you to Ali Garner Noel.
Hi Ali Garner, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I am a firm believer that every part of your past has shaped the success of where you currently are in life. I was born and raised in Tennessee, but after graduating from Alabama I lived in NYC for 5 years before moving back to the South. My entire family is immersed in real estate. My dad was a home builder for over 40 years and my mom, brother, and sister are all agents.
I wanted to forge my own success early on but I thought I had to choose a different career path to do so. I started a career in fashion wholesale, worked for a sports agency, and then finally found my own place in real estate here in Nashville. I was able to forge my own way but still work in the industry I was literally born into and surrounded by.
When I started in real estate, I knew it was going to be challenging because not only was half my family in real estate but so were a handful of my friends. I was surrounded by so many agents, I challenged myself to wake up every morning and ask myself “How can I be different from every other agent today and how can I show value to my clients in a way that surpasses what all the other agents are doing.” I truly have crafted a way for my clients not to go through a transaction, but a full luxury experience when they work with me.
As my business took off, I knew that I needed to form a small team that would act as an extension of myself and the way I do business so we could widen our reach of clients and enhance their experience even more. So, in 2021, I formed The Noel Collective. We are a team of three and we are taking Nashville by storm!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of the biggest obstacles is the world telling you that you cannot do something. I have always used that motivation to prove to others that I will and can do what I set my mind to. I remember dreaming of having my own small team and wondering if it would ever come to fruition. I truly believe you can do anything you set your mind to if you wake up every day and ask yourself how you can be better and also surround yourself with people that support your dream.
The path to success is never a smooth road. You need to be able to accept that there will be struggles and each time you go through one you come out stronger and smarter learning from what you went through.
One of the struggles I face daily is the balancing act of being a mother to two boys: Walker (4 years old) and Theo (1 year old), a loving wife, and a business owner. Some days, I feel like I am on top of the world and others I feel like I am failing at it all. I think overall you just need to be able to give yourself grace and know that you are a Superwoman but can not check every box every time.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a full-service luxury real estate group. Luxury is not a price point to us, but truly an experience. We absolutely love what we do and it shines through in every aspect of our business. From selling your personal home to helping you purchase an investment property, we really do it all. We sit down with each client and craft a custom experience tailored to the client and the situation. We promise that when you work with us, you will walk away and have a new standard for real estate advisors.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Mentors and networking are absolutely keys to your success. As soon as I started in real estate, I observed agents that I felt connected to in the way they were doing business and I took bits and pieces from these different agents and compiled them into my own way of running business. I continually stay very connected with other agents in the industry and learn from each and every one of them.
I am a true believer that there is enough piece of pie out there in our industry and that if we as agents all connect together and learn from each other we become the best version of ourselves. No matter what industry you are in, find mentors to look up to, take things from them that feel like you, and tweak them to make them your own.
