Today we’d like to introduce you to Brianna Harris.

Brianna Harris

Hi Brianna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, my life was anything but stable. My mom had me when she was 16 and didn’t have a supportive family or a solid foundation, which led us to move over 15 times and change schools multiple times within a year.

While this kind of lifestyle could have sent some people down a dark path, I chose to view it as a valuable learning experience and a chance to rise above the obstacles my mother had to face.

Despite the challenges, I worked hard in college and managed to overcome many hurdles. I graduated with honors and earned a full scholarship to pursue my master’s degree. It was during this time that I met and married an incredible man who served in the Marine Corps. Together, we embarked on numerous adventures, embracing life to the fullest.

However, due to my ex-husband’s struggles with PTSD, we, unfortunately, reached a crossroads and decided to part ways after four years of marriage. It was a challenging period, but I knew I had to continue moving forward.

In 2018, I discovered the mortgage industry and started my journey as a social media manager for Anthony Casa and AIME. I quickly fell in love with my job and rapidly climbed the ranks. I found myself managing a group called Brokers are Better, providing support to mortgage brokers and answering their loan-related questions. Armed with my trusty mortgage encyclopedia, I would dive into the intricacies of the industry, eager to help others navigate through the complexities.

After my time at AIME, I joined ARIVE, a software company specializing in managing broker loans. As the head of sales and marketing, I thrived in my role and continued to grow both personally and professionally. Alongside this, I also served as a marketing coach with Christine Beckwith, juggling multiple responsibilities that kept me fulfilled.

Life had more surprises in store for me when I met Tucker, a tall country boy from Nashville, TN. Feeling the need for a fresh start during the COVID-19 pandemic, I relocated to Tennessee and found everything falling into place. After a year together, Tucker and I got engaged and bought our first home.

Inspired by my experiences and determined to make a difference, I decided to start my own marketing company, assisting mortgage brokers and realtors. However, just when things seemed settled, I received some life-changing news – I was pregnant with our first child. Jackson Rivers, our beautiful baby boy, brought immeasurable joy into our lives.

During my eighth month of pregnancy, a good friend nudged me toward becoming a loan officer. Following my gut instinct, I leaped and embraced this new chapter. Today, I am proud to say that I am the owner of Broadway Mortgage Group and have recently started hiring new team members.

I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for the incredible journey life has taken me on. Overcoming obstacles, embracing opportunities, and finding love and success in unexpected places have shaped me into the person I am today. The future is bright, and I’m excited to continue helping others navigate the world of mortgages while cherishing every blessing that comes my way.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Throughout my life, I have encountered numerous challenges that have shaped me into the person I am today. From a young age, I faced adversity as I grew up with a young mother and lacked a stable place to call home. When I was born my mom and I lived in hotel rooms, at her friends houses, just about anywhere that we could. At times we barely had money to eat, my mom would give me her last dollar to order something off of the dollar menu at McDonald’s. Our life was filled with highs and intense lows.

I moved almost every year until high school and changed schools sometimes twice in one year. My mom was trying to find herself and her purpose while also raising a child. The longing for a family and stability was deeply rooted in me from the beginning.

Being born into certain circumstances meant that I had to work harder than most to overcome obstacles and rise above them. It wasn’t easy, and there were times when I resented the situations I was put in, questioning why I deserved such difficulties.

However, as time went on, I began to appreciate the hurdles I faced. They served as stepping stones toward personal growth and helped mold me into a strong leader. I also grew to see and appreciate how strong my mother was. We didn’t always have a great relationship but she always loved me and wanted better for me.

As life progressed, I experienced heartbreak through divorce and financial struggles that left me wondering how I would make ends meet. I also embarked on a journey of self-discovery, trying to figure out who I truly am and what my purpose is in this world.

Life has been a rollercoaster ride filled with intense highs and lows. But everything started to balance out when I entered the mortgage world and met my fiancé, Tucker. Both work and Tucker have brought stability and harmony into my life, making the journey worthwhile.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner and mortgage broker of Broadway Mortgage Group. My journey began when I was 8 months pregnant, fueled by my passion for the industry after working in various roles for 6 years. Balancing motherhood and running a business is no easy feat, but I have an incredible team that supports me every step of the way.

Our hands-on approach ensures that our clients feel like part of our family. We are committed to their success and go above and beyond to provide personalized service.

Community involvement is important to us, and we actively participate in various organizations across Middle Tennessee. We believe in helping people achieve their dream of homeownership and strive to make a positive impact in their lives. To us, our clients are more than just numbers – they are valued members of our extended family.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I spent my childhood as a competitive horseback rider, traveling across the country to participate in hunter-jumper shows. I even had the incredible opportunity to train with Olympic riders. Despite the high costs associated with the sport, I was fortunate enough to find a farm that allowed me to work to cover my show fees and equipment.

From the age of 7, I would be at the barn from 5 am until late into the evening, dedicating my time and passion to this remarkable pursuit. At one point, I believed I would spend my entire life in the equestrian industry. However, now I find joy in riding my two horses and cherishing them as a hobby that I plan to share with my son.
