Exploring Life & Business with Chanlie Beckham of Renewed Home Staging & Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chanlie Beckham.

Hi Chanlie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Creativity & service have always been driving forces in my life. I graduated in 2019 with my bachelor of Science in biology in hopes of soon beginning dental school. Working as a dental assistant during the dental school application season began to weigh heavy. I decided to take a leave of absence and dedicate myself to my studies full-time. During that time I began painting as a way to decompress. I ended up selling many oil paintings and my mind began to wander outside of the dental world. Many conversations and prayers later, I decided to apply for a job with a local real estate company.

At first, I was not sure what led me to this job, but now I do. I owe Renewed Home Staging & Design to the opportunity they gave me. Once they noticed my love for visual aesthetics and design, I began staging their homes in the Fall of 2022. Twenty-two homes later – I am filled with joy as it fills my desire to create and serve my clients. As Renewed Home grows our clientele of agents, design clients, and rental property owners, I am excited to see the expansion of work in my hometown, Nashville, TN.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Starting a business is never smooth! Bumps occur along the way but that’s the litmus test of growth.

Each property teaches me something new whether it’s an insight into design, better communication with my team, or how to streamline the process of fully furnishing a home in 3 hours! I’m still learning and I love the newness each day brings.

Renewed Home Staging & Design primarily focuses on renewing space for profit, whether on the open market of real estate or by raising the standards for short-term or long-term rentals. Staged homes on the market sell for 25% more than homes without staging.

Staging a home can look like our team coming to a property, rearranging it with items already in the home or it can look like bringing in inventory to completely redecorate a home. Renewed Home also offers design services. Working with a designer means that every design choice is thought out from an aesthetic point of view, but also a functional one.

A space can truly enhance one’s day-to-day living. The thing I love most about Renewed Home is that it is a company built on opportunity. An influential businesswoman in my life opened the opportunity to begin using my passion in a way that provided for my family. It is a career that allows me to travel with my husband, love my golden doodle, Bruce, and meet people I’d otherwise never get to interact with. Renewed Home Staging & Design has big dreams.

By 2024 we want to serve 100 clients and be a major donor for local non-profits in the Nashville area that support the unhoused community and women devoted programs. We strive for excellence in everything we do and believe renewal is available for every home, space, and heart.

What do you think about happiness?
I think all of my happy memories share the message of hope. As silly as it sounds, when a client comes home after it’s been staged for the open market, hope begins to well up as they see the home selling.

Some clients see a space they didn’t see before and suddenly the possibilities of design are endless in a space they once felt was dulled. Sharing the message of hope, whether it’s through design or something more personal, leaves me feeling full!
