Exploring Life & Business with Christi Lee Bowling of Prime Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christi Lee Bowling.

Christi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Growing up, I was an all-state athlete which piqued my interest in keeping a proper diet to provide the necessary energy to maintain performance. A diagnosis of hypoglycemia in my teen years made types of foods and ways of eating a learned discipline to ensure my health. This knowledge and personal experience motivated my pursuit of a career in dietetics.

I am a true foodie, firmly believing in wise choices and moderation, but also the occasional, necessary chocolate cupcake! I use the same approach with my patients and love to see their determination to achieve their own personal wellness vision. Through proper planning and hard work, I’m able to help them achieve prime wellness and that’s even more satisfying than sweets.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not! I started out with an art degree and struggled on what I would do post-graduation. When I saw this wasn’t a viable option in terms of career pursuit, my grandmother actually mentioned becoming a dietitian. She was that I had a passion for the field, with cooking, for health overall and improving performance. It was like a light switch flipped on for me. I went to the University of Kentucky and got another undergrad degree and Master’s degree concurrently and got out of there in 2.5 years. It was a LOT!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Dieting is not a trendy fad. Eating right is a way of life and one, that if done properly, can help you achieve your goals whether they’re just for you, are doctor recommended, company health-related, or to maintain a professional level of health.

Through years of experience and education to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), as well as a Licensed Dietitian (LD), and a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD), I’ve devoted my life to helping others become the best version of themselves. I’ve also learned that good food can be delicious. It doesn’t have to be difficult to make. And when you eat the right food for your body, you feel great!

I take each client and work with them to develop a personalized plan based on their personal health goals. Each plan is unique and catered to the individual. I also tell my patients to contact me at any time between consults via email, text or call so they truly feel supported on their journey.

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in God’s guidance and blessings and hard work to achieve what He puts in one’s path.
