Exploring Life & Business with Cornesha Edwards of Grind Time Logistics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cornesha Edwards.

Hi Cornesha, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
My father was a truck driver when I was a kid. He would let me ride in his truck or pull up to the house and let me play in it. I eventually got my Commercial driver’s License and learned how to respect the road. I found more interest in transportation/trucking as an analyst for Nissan in 2015.

I learned the back-office part of the industry as well as understanding the foreign trade part of transportation. A year later, I learned how to dispatch independent carriers. From there, I started my own company, Grind Time Logistics LLC.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The setup of my company was the easy part. I knew how to get customers. I also knew how to get drivers. My biggest struggle in the beginning, I can admit, was time management. As the owner of a smaller trucking company, I wear so many hats. I had to learn how to delegate.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Grind Time Logistics LLC?
Grind Time Logistics LLC is a minority-owned, woman-owned, family-oriented company that prides itself on integrity and safety. We have experience in hauling a wide variety of freight.

What set us apart from others is that we offer REAL opportunities. I have implemented a program for felons and anyone that need an opportunity to become owner-operators by partnering with us. After being in the program, we help them into full company ownership.

Other services offered include a freight dispatching course and opportunities to partner with us with government contracts.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people do not know that outside of the transportation industry, I own a talent management company, CoEd (Cornesha Edwards) Talent Management.

I also enjoy country music and home improvement/remodeling.

I have worked with Cornesha for a few years now and she has been a mentor to many others getting into trucking. She knows the ins and outs and has built her success across TN and the nation. Thanks for working together with me Nesha!
