Exploring Life & Business with David Norrie of Turned On

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Norrie

Hi David, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For as long as I can remember, I loved to tell stories.

After college, I got a job as a contributor to the Miami Herald and began covering little league baseball and any story they’d give me.

I then spent the next several years covering high school football and upon relocating to Tampa, Florida obtained a position covering college sports.

Then one day, I got to the “Big Show” covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the NFL. It’s what every young sports reporter dreams of. But after a couple of seasons, I realized the dream wasn’t all that fruitful in terms of excitement and pay.

So I quit and went into business for myself, starting up and internet fitness channel from scratch. That was great until a recession hit and my advertisers pulled out.

Ever since then, I’ve been focusing my attention on helping entrepreneurs tell their story better in a short attention span world. Be it in person, at live events, or via social media and video conferencing, I help people SPEAK UP !

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s been anything but smooth.

Imagining working 15 years to get your dream job only to discover, it’s not what you want to do.

Then a recession and several more hiccups due to technology and an ever changing world of media.

I’ve managed to roll with the punches and reinvent myself over and over.

As you know, we’re big fans of Turned On. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My wife and I formed Turned On and a Matthew 5:14 company, meaning we wanted to bring light back into the world.

We specialize on helping people realize their God-given gifts and give them both the confidence and the speaking ability to live out their assignment.

I’ve authored two books, first Turned On in 2019 and then The Pursuit in 2022.

We have a top-rated podcast in it’s sixth season called Turned On and we teach several courses on how to turn your personality into profit.

How do you think about happiness?
I enjoy teaching people how to bring fun and faith back into their business. It’s a marketplace ministry where I can use my more than 30 years of storytelling to help people come out of their shells and use their charisma to the best of their ability.
