Today we’d like to introduce you to Delaney McBride.
Hi Delaney, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Holistic wellness has always been a passion of mine. I love to help people feel the absolute best they can, whether that’s through a healthy meal, energy work, or massage therapy!
Growing up I was always helping my mom in the kitchen, so I’ve been naturally drawn to cooking since a young age. I was also fortunate enough to receive massage therapy when I was younger, and the positive impact it had on my mental and physical wellbeing was astounding. As I got older, I felt totally drawn to share my passion for holistic health with others, and I feel so lucky that I get to do it as my career.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I think that growing something you’re passionate about definitely takes time and hard work. After I completed massage therapy school, it took a good bit of time for me to find my flow and feel confident in my abilities. Sharing that energetic and vulnerable space with someone can sometimes feel intense and overwhelming for a new therapist!
I had to practice a lot of grounding meditation and set some energetic boundaries, but once I did, it made a huge difference in my confidence. I think it’s important to stay grounded and set those boundaries in any workplace. I’ve realized that it’s absolutely imperative for me to carve out time for myself too – being a vessel for another’s healing is something I don’t take lightly, and it’s important to be able to take care of myself in the same way I take care of others.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Hand to Heart Wellness?
I created Hand to Heart Wellness with the intention of creating a space for people that want to take steps towards healing themselves. I am a licensed massage therapist, personal chef, energetic healer, and postpartum doula. Essentially, I just want to help you feel good! Whether that’s delivering healthy home-cooked meals to make your week easier or providing energy and/or bodywork to ease you into a space of healing, my intention is to help you feel like your best self.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
I am so lucky to have the support system that I do. I have always felt so supported by my family and friends in my creative and professional endeavors, and it was no different when I decided to dive into massage therapy and healing. All of my teachers at Mind Body Institute were amazing mentors who were encouraging, helpful, supportive, patient, and knowledgeable. I think I have the best clients in the world, and I’m so honored to share my passion with them!
